Provus and Perkins making excuses for Baldelli not knowing Buxton was a HR short of the cycle yesterday...

Yep , I heard it and thought BS  , rocco isn't paying attention on how this game is unfolding is normal for Rocco  ...

Batters ,  put this Pirate team away - losing this game will negate all the good from the last 3 series at home , 2 out of 3 has been nice  and normally is but not Today - get to the break on a high note  and with all the BYRON fun lately and with him in the Homer contest , to me todays game  -as PETER would say  is the most important ,   IT IS !!!

I'll be the Rocco defender in this situation.  Given the overall situation, big lead and Buxton has had a great day at the plate, Rocco was probably looking more at trying to save his legs a little by taking him out early.  Rocco has done it with both Buxton and Correa throughout the season.  Rocco even said in the interview that it's his coaches that bring up those things, such as a cycle watch, hitting streaks, on base streaks, etc.  He did say that once they brought it to his attention, he wasn't taking him out.  I bet that if you asked all of the MLB managers about whether they keep track of these things, most of them would say no.

But he knows when a young pitcher is 3rd time through the line-up? I'm not buying that...

Again, I would say that is why you have a coach.  In that case, it's his pitching coach reminding him where the pitcher is in the batting order, what his numbers are that third time through the order, and who is actually coming up to help Rocco make that decision.

Pulling S.W.R. ?  right or wrong ?   but for sure how in the hell is he ever gonna learn to pitch out of a jam ?

There is a confidence factor involved...but SWR did do well today....just tough to remove him in this situation in my view..1 out before a potential win

Young pitchers not allowed to face line up for third time through the order ...

You'd think we would or could get used to Rocco pulling the pitcher early  , but it's not  that easy to get used to it or really anything Rocco does ...

Sorry Rocco fans I couldn't resist...

I believe I heard they were having the ABS for the All-Star Game.  We need to bring back Angel Hernandez to be behind the plate this All-Star game.

I'll see your Angel Hernandez and raise you a C.B. Buckner.

They are not developing Sim at this point, he needs to learn pitch later in the game.  You can't have all your starters going 4 to 5 innings.  And that is where this team will be in a couple of years if they don't start letting them pitch

All your starters? One guy.

No amount of defense makes up for Vazquez awful hitting.

If a Player is on and you have a feel for the game - the last thing to think about is getting EVERYONE work- not every pitcher is gonna be on EVERY day so lets use him, -  Look back 2 out of last 3 years and then you will see how he   blows up his bullpens all the time ,
