Guys are just taught to look for a pitch and then swing their swing. It's not just the Twins.

I guess Larnach wasn't looking for a fastball, so he let it go. Even with two strikes, and the game on the line. 

I still can't get my mind around this type of hitting approach. 

(don't know for sure that's what happened, just a guess)

If you are looking for a fastball, and see a late break, you should be able to adjust your swing and try to get a piece of it. 

Not what guys are taught to do anymore :(

I admit I laughed heartily watching Larnach watch a fastball down the middle. He's a two pitch pitcher, how are you that lost?

This game revealed another classic Falvey blunder:

Falvey's strength was suppose to be his ability to spot good pitching. 

Traded Trevor Megill to Milwaukee for a "player to be named later"... and eventually got Taylor Floyd, a fringe reliever who’s now in Double-A for the Mariners after being poached in the minor league Rule 5 draft.

Meanwhile, Megill’s throwing 99 in high-leverage spots for the Brewers. Add it to the growing list of giveaways that somehow always manage to make the other team better.

I'd say Twins are not out of wild card contention.  But I wouldn't put any money on them to win a berth either.  Another year of could'a, should'a, would'a.  NFL here we come...

Despite the painful loss, I agree. France and Bader both get a lot of hate I don’t understand especially for the money they are getting paid this year.
