Can't sugarcoat this crap except the arm usage went as well as could be reasonably expected in a game basically over by the 4th inning. Festa may well continue to get starts but if we are gonna have short start specialists (also includes Ober lately) some serious realigning work needs to be done to the bullpen before the weekend.  Maybe some hints can be had by looking at tonight's Saints game (or even others)   Coulombe supposedly is starting rehab stint.  SWR won't be here anytime soon after pitching recently.

 

I guess Prielipp is a bit much to hope for right now..

Now the real question sets in on the Twins needing to find another reliever for the weekend.  I can't imagine they would go two relievers short for multiple days.  Fundy would be the likely option since he has options.  Per MLB, I see that Coulombe will start a rehab appearance in St. Paul tomorrow.  It will be curious if they go short-handed tomorrow with the chance to bring back Coulombe over the weekend.

Disappointing for Alcala as I thought he may have turned a corner with his earlier outing in the series.  He may end up being the casualty when Coulombe comes back as it would be nice to have two lefties in the bullpen.

Our old friend may become our new friend.  Blewett was typically good in situations like this.  Multiple inning mop-up work that limited the damage.  I have a feeling we are going to need someone like him in the future.

.500 isn't bad, considering 11 of the 16 games were on the road. Quality of opponent has been pretty good until they played the Athletics.

I agree. Isn't bad. Isn't good. The very definition of a .500 team. Middle of the road. Like kissing your sister? The better teams have winning records on the road, too.

Lots of time to do better and get in the playoffs. Or do worse and not. Lopez out for 3 months I bet. We will see if this so called pitching pipeline is more than hype.

Well, you should check out his stats. He has done quite well in 2025. He ranks 6th in MLB in saves.

Still 2 games behind xW/L so our luck has to change. The 2 walkoff losses were tough in Seattle. Very winnable games that went the wrong way.
