  1. The organization needs to commit one way or the other. Either they want a long term competitive team (which means not selling prospects) or they sell prospects for a shorter competitive window. Our window isn’t even open now except for the tunnel vision of a horrible American League full of non competitive teams just like us. Yeah, let’s sell the future to be the best of the worst in ‘26.
  2. @LyleCole The Twins have the prospect assets to field a long time competitive team as soon as next season. It may be the best long term strategy to sell Jeffery, Ryan, Bell and Larnach to go even younger and deeper. No idea what Zoll has cooking and what budget constraints he has to work with so it is a wait and see. It would not be a huge surprise to see the organization hoard more prospects and go thru another no post season now and look for a fresh start under the new collective bargaining agreement.
  3. As much as anyone, I want a deep playoff run but this is not the season for it. Bring up the kids and live thru the ups and downs. If they catch fire like Evan Carter did a few years back, we will still have an entertaining post season and it wont cost us a dime of prospect capital. Sell something to get more pitching depth but don’t give away future assets.
  4. Agreed! As long as the right guys are making the right decisions, the organization can/will flourish! The past few drafts have been very good and hiring Shelty seems like it’s working. Hopefully player development takes a leap and gets these kids to shine in MLB!
  5. Selling Ryan this offseason or Lopez a year from now will bring the $ 140M down alot! 2 years out 7/28, I would expect both Ryan and Lopez will be gone but I sure hope they are still here!
  6. T. Pohlad just talked to the press about the team strategy on building upon this years mediocre success and future plans. He isn’t coaching up players but he is definitely working with Zoll on a daily basis on the business of player acquisition and organizational structure. T.Pohlad is not considered a hands off owner.
  7. This definitely reminds me of the waves of talent in the mid 80s. The past 4-5 drafts have gotten top tier talent into the pipeline. IF most of these guys stick in MLB, we will compete in a money ball scenario. Like LK, we can root for Lackey to be on the fast track to MLB. The depth in MiLB has its own depth n Mendez, Winokur, Tinney, Diaw and others. What we need is for ownership to not mess up the future!
  8. Well that’s an obvious statement….
  9. He is so athletic and strong. I believe he is the type that will work relentlessly to he the best as he grows into his body and craft. He gets a call up in 2028. Book it.
  10. He is 21 yo. Half way thru his 3rd full professional season. He has plenty of time to become an extremely valuable big league player. His body is still filling out and his experience is still “a small sample size”. He may not be on Varsity until 2028 but that wont stop him from having a career that lasts until 2040 or so….
  11. I know Lee cant handle 2nd but what about KC handling 3rd and Kriedler at 2nd? Sending Lee to a util role. and what will happen if Winoker stops striking out twice a game and makes consistent contact?
  12. Houston will be sent to St. Paul as soon as KC is sent to MPLS. They will probs both be on the Twins roster next spring. They are for real and real close to be MLB’rs. Kendle needs another season and Gomez will be another bullpen guy with options. Get him a taxi 🚕 n 2027.
  13. We have seen the Dodgers, Angels and other teams go heavy in a particular draft with pitching, Its never seemed to hurt their organization’s by doing it. I believe that it is a great strategy! Get athletes that have talent and the personality traits to work hard to be the best. No drafting the type that will tip pitches so they can get to the off season a day faster cause they are tired of playing A GAME while getting PAID. I applaud this draft! 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  14. Great picks! Today should bring some more excitement to the org. We no longer have a lack of catching depth!!!
  15. The Twins have a downer for an ownership group and the city experience has been pure crap since G.Floyd. Our stadium is awesome but the city experience as a whole is nothing better than a sewer system. Change that vibe and more fans would go to more games.
  16. As always, great knowledge from you! I dont know what Ryan, Jeffers and Larnach’s market is now. If anyone can get an overpayment, you gonna pull that trigger. If the market sucks, hold on until the offseason…
  17. As much as we would love to keep Ryan long term and make deep runs into the playoffs for the next 5 years with him, realistically, we need to cash him out now for multiple younger stars that will help bring us closer to a world series run for the next 5-8 years. We need to upgrade many positions so we need a bigger pool of developmental talent. I hope T. Pohlad understands that fact.
  18. What an awesome guy! We obviously need coaches like him that bring out the best in players and their development. I hope he sticks around to help the youngsters that will be coming over the next few years!!
  19. Lee at 3B, Culpepper at 2B and Houston at SS but if Lee doesn’t age well, Culpepper should be at 3B. Lee to utility role with someone else taking over 2nd. something crazy could happen if Roch Cholowski falls to us at the 3rd pick in the draft…
  20. With a .400 obp, his ceiling is sky high. Add in 40 steals per season and dozens of extra base hits, who cares if he only tops out at 15-20HR’s. We need his gold glove on varsity! If his bat had been developed sooner in college, he would have been a top 10 pick. We are lucky to have him in the organization!!
  21. He is better defensively than LK and his AB’s are MLB ready. Its just a matter of Gray getting DFA’d which is just a matter of time. There will be speed bumps but the sooner the better. Its time to lean into the youth movement.
  22. KC is more than ready for MLB… If his hand isnt broken from the HBP tonight.
  23. Saints batting practice is tonight la even. 11-3 bottom of the 4th.
  24. He’s finally healthy. Keep him healthy and ride that bull. He is so much fun to watch pitch!!
