    @jmlease1 its been reported that BJ’s are pickingup $3.75M so Hoffmans cost will be$7.25M. That pocket change if he is getting the big outs.

    The Dodgers are some talented dudes that wont get to this years WS. There are several good teams in the NL. Dodgers lose in the NLCS to the Brewers. Twins lose to the Rays in the ALCS. October baseball is going to be epic.

    Step 1 is done by adding pitching depth. Now add some prospects to varsity that can catch lightning in a bottle. It worked for Texas and AZ in 2023. No one will ever convince me that the Twins are better with T.Gray and A.Roden than K.Culpepper and W.Jenkins.

    Only one top 20ish prospect traded has preserved our pool of young talent. Zoll didn’t give anyone away while added 2 veteran pitchers for next year. Not bad! A shame that we couldn’t get Abreu and Detmers tho. A year from now, we may have a completely different experience. Barring a prolonged lockout, we should be showcasing an extremely talented wave of rookies that will be a long term core. KC, WJ, MH, Emma &RQ. Thats gonna be exciting!!

    Yeah, lockout wont affect the minor leagues but they both KC & WJ will improve the ‘26 playoff drive so the FO needs to be all in.

    High price in assets to pay for Hoffman but he gets big outs. Getting him next season will be huge as the young kids will be promoted to Varsity and the playoff window opens for real. Anyone that is upset that the Pohlads are spending money should just HUSH UP! This is just a start to spending money n a playoff team. We should expect even more this offseason!!!

    Great points! Everyone is expensive and how many FO’s know details about what other teams’ 18 yo high ceiling prospects actually are. There has to be minimum of 1 per team so nail it down to a total of 34 kids to be sold…. and does anyone care that the FO is pushing for a pennant this season? NOPE. T.Pohlad is buying his best chance to win now and inflate the franchise value. Just win games and get thru season to sell playoff tickets. Pure ego. He is building this playoff contender. Smile and enjoy it.

    Today was actually a good loss. Sports psychology is a thing. This keeps the guys thinking about other plays that could have won the game. It was exciting and it was brilliant/brutal bang bang. This is meaningful baseball inAUGUST.

    I love trades and prospects because they bring a lot of hope. IF we can open up a legitimate contending window immediately, its gonna cost us assets but as long as it doesn’t strip us bare, WHY NOT? to get Gausman, Neto and Detmers we would have to give up some young guys but that gets us some crazy good legit stars.

    Its not Monday yet. Kremer is a depth piece and there is plenty of room to give him innings if he gets healthy. If he is the next Mahle, then its a dumb trade but no one can say that before Kremer pitches a few games or not.
