Add JT Chargois to the list of former Twins relief pitchers signed to a minor league deal. He's actually pitched pretty well when healthy.

Yeah, Chargois has put up good numbers the past couple of years. Odd that he was only able to get a minor league due, but maybe there are still health concerns?

Add Dylan Floro to the list of ex-Twins relievers who signed a minor league deal. Floro has been a particularly bad trade deadline pickup each of the last two years.

Yeah, Floro had an odd year in 2024. He had very impressive stats with Washington for most of the season, and then looked horrible after Arizona picked him up. But hey, for the A's it's not much risk on a minor league deal.

Yeah, plus it's the A's so there isn't much risk anyway. Will it keep them out of the playoffs? Will it turn off the Sacramento fans? Ownership doesn't care.

Andrew Vasquez, who logged five innings in ten appearances for the 2018 and 2019 Twins, signed a contract to pitch in Mexico. Vasquez is one of my favorite players to use in Immaculate Grid because he played for six teams in a relatively short career.

I used Leon on today's Immaculate Grid, always trying to get ex-Twins in every space. He played for both Cleveland and Texas, as well as the Twins, of course

Also to fill the grid entry for Tampa and St. Louis, I used Twins immortal Taylor Motter (1-19 in nine games with the 2018 Twins). I checked BBRef afterwards and from what I can tell Motter is the only player in MLB who has played for the Twins, Rays and Cardinals.

Another Original Minnesota Twin has passed away. José Valdivielso passed away at age 90. I haven't counted recently, but a couple years ago a surprising number of 1961 Twins were still alive.

Edit to add: I did an unofficial check of 1961 Twins and now seven remain--6 pitchers (Pedro Ramos, Camilo Pascual, Jim Kaat, Don Lee, Bill Pleis and Jerry Arrigo) and one position player (Rich Rollins). It would appear that Rollins and Arrigo were not on the team that opened in New York in April of 1961.

Another of my favorite Immaculate Grid entries, Travis Blankenhorn signed a minor league deal with the Angels. Blankenhorn had four PAs with the Twins and has played for the Mets and Nats. He's totaled 100 PAs despite appearing in major league games in every year since 2020.
