2025 Twins 26 and 40-man Roster Moves (**NOT A DISCUSSION THREAD**)

Hey, it is a new year, so I suppose we can start a new thread with roster moves. The Twins currently have 39 spots filled on their 40-man roster. There is room to add one player before anyone is designated for assignment. As far as I know, all players on the 40-man are healthy, so there won't be someone immediately sent to the 60-day IL when Spring Training starts. 

The current roster has 22 pitchers--Adams, Alcalá, Canterino, Castellano (Rule V), Duran, Festa, Funderburk, Headrick, Henriquez, Jax, López, Matthews, Ober, Paddack, Raya, Ryan, Sands, Stewart, Tonkin, Topa, Varland and Woods Richardson. The catchers (3) are listed as Camargo, Jeffers and Vázquez. Infielders (7)--Castro, Correa, Gasper, Julien, Lee, Lewis and Miranda. Outfielders (7)--Buxton, Helman, Keirsey Jr., Larnach, Martin, Rodriguez and Wallner.

Michael Helman to St Louis for cash considerations. That’s one of the 40 man moves needed to make space for Coloumbe and Bader.

Yankees claimed Brent Headrick off waivers from the Twins. This (by my math) puts the Twins 40 man at 39 players. Possible they are close to adding someone?

First roster cuts announced today. From the 40-man roster--Adams, Canterino, Raya and Emmanuel Rodriguez were optioned to AAA. Interesting that they can option an injured player (Canterino). I don't know if they can DFA him in order to get him off the 40-man.

Bobby Nightengale is reporting that Brock Stewart, Royce Lewis and Michael Tonkin will start the season on the IL. There are currently 31 on the active roster, so reducing that by three leaves only two cuts to be made unless the club purchases a minor league contract.

The Orioles announced Monday that they’ve claimed right-handed reliever Scott Blewett off waivers from the Twins, who’d designated him for assignment over the weekend. In a corresponding move, Baltimore designated left-hander Luis Gonzalez for assignment.

The Athletic is reporting that the Twins have called up Keaschall. No corresponding move announced as far as I know. Assume it's either an IL for someone like Castro or Correa or a demotion for Gaspar.
