Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Long day of games today … double the fun if double the wins! Go Twins! Game 1: Game 2: Patzky 1
Original_JB Verified Member Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 I understand wanting to get the games in, but going from a rainout rescheduled to a day where they are more or less telling people to be careful and stay inside due to the extreme weather doesn't exactly seem 'fair'.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Happy Father’s Day! Stay hydrated if you’re outside this afternoon. Gonna be a hot one. Patzky, USAFChief, Richie the Rally Goat and 2 others 5

Tough choices for the local team. Yesterday was one of those days where it could have been raining almost at any time, but there were times when it wasn't raining. Today isn't going to be a beautiful day by any means but there are less times when it will be raining. The A's only come to town once (that's the way it is for everyone outside the AL Central). If they don't make up the game today, it would be the hassle of finding mutual off days and would mean the A's would have to travel to MN for one day. Just no good answers. wabene and Patzky 2
Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Twins called up Louie Varland for today.. pen or push back Paddack? (Or Ober) wabene 1

I know they don't do the Minor League trick of making the Twins the 'home team' when they visit Oakland next week.. do they?

There will be a bunch of games like that this week.. in Pittsburgh, Philly, DC..hope nobody else has to 'suffer' through a double header.

Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 If the weather is that oppressive today I could see a Ober/Varland tag team game 1. He's a big fella..
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Happy Father's Day to all dads out there. Let's get a couple W's to celebrate! wabene, MMMordabito, IndyTwinsFan and 1 other 4

Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Or bullpen? They are off tomorrow so starting seems more likely.

As long as they aren't 300 #ers doing two-a-days, they'll be fine. I don't think pro baseball players have the health conditions of the target audience of those stay-inside-and-be-afraid recommendations.

It's going to be 89º. If we're going to stay inside when it's 89 and humid, might as well never leave the house. Half the country is like this all summer long. Shaitan Verified Member Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 This isn't one of those free YouTube/Facebook/Roku/etc days is it? Damn cold won't go away so I'm stuck on the couch all weekend. A doubleheader sounds perfect.

But just be smart about it. And that's what the trainers are paid for. The dugout has AC, I bet. It's definitely shaded. The clubhouse definitely does. Target Field is big enough that it gets a breeze at times. It's currently overcast too, which means less intense heat. Patzky 1

At least this is tolerable if not comfortable.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 In acknowledgement of the twins facing a pitcher named Sears today, and the crippling heat, this is all I can think about. MMMordabito and Patzky 1 1

mnfireman Verified Member Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Would rather have Lewis in the field instead of Miranda, but at least he's playing. Patzky 1
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 If it’s too hot to play baseball, we might as well pack it in as a country and turn out the lights 😂

Thanks Dad. I think it was Lewis Black who did a bit on water and hydration. Its pretty funny if you want to check it out.
