Oh course they will. It is that kind of self indulgence that brings the arrogance to, as a team, including Lopez, to keep throwing meat down the middle on 0-2 counts. 7 minutes ago, Aggies7 said: As much as I hate that, every team does the silly stuff anymore. “Back in my day” you at least had to have some clout before you acted like that. But then the worst team in the league couldn’t have a home run celebration. but really what do you do with the Pablo day stuff? Just stop mentioning it and hope it withers away on its own? 1 minute ago, OvertheHill said: I hate it more, and can hardly stand the thought of it when they’re playing well and firing on all cylinders. They’re miles from that and with this roster and coach I don’t see it coming around in a meaningful way this year. I’m allowing the reality of a 3rd place finish to sink in. Or, and hear me out here, lighten up Francis.

Yes, and over the course of that long season we expect to see all kinds of highs and lows. All FO’s market their teams coming out of ST as having a shot at winning it all, but obviously only one does. Does that make everyone else unsuccessful? No. Fan bases can be satisfied (and entertained) by good fundamentals, well managed competitive teams that balance established players and exciting new players, and legitimate progress that looks like it’s building to something better. My lament is that this franchise appears happy with just treading water, and that more or less worked in a bad division. I see Cleveland and KC on the way up right now.

insagt1 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 I think it's safe to say that Pablo is having a very lousy season. Certainly not what Twins expected from him. Tonite he was awful from the get-go. No control and his ERA 2nd time thru a lineup ballooned to over 9.00. Excuse after Excuse can be made and will be made but I wanted an ace or close to it and we are getting a 4th or 5th starter at best. Tonite he was nibbling and not going after hitters and result was disastrous. Having said that did anyone expect a different outcome? Maybe the rain delay will mercifully put this awful series to sleep. And why does anyone think Cleveland will fold? Wishful thinking? They are playing good ball. Not thinking it will be a cakewalk for Twins to even come close to catching them. Especially the way they have completely failed against good AL teams. Just frustrated watching them crumble again against NYY. Hard to feel good. I need 4 more with Chisox! Hosken Bombo Disco and knothole61 2

David HK Verified Member Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Rocco strikes again. You don't pinch hit Bux for the Black Hole of Farmer with 2 ducks in the pond?!? He goes to CF, Castro to 2B, and even if he whiffs, we at least make a run at it. Somebody posted this week about how Rocco can't wait to get his best hitters out of the game with pinch-hitting mysteries, why not at least try to get the worst hitters out of the way for a change? h2oface 1
