  1. As an out-of-market fan, I'm already paying huge amounts to watch the Twins, Wolves, Wild, and Vikings, so it would be great if this changes to $100 bucks a month for the Twins. I'd love a follow-up article to assess viewership and subscriptions.
  2. I think it's going to be very interesting with potentially Buehler and Rodriguez heading to AFL this year and maybe giving a glimpse of if Kep will be back for next year, payroll constraints considered. Of course that would be wildly quick for Bue, but maybe not so much for Rodriguez...
  3. Headrick has turned into a bit of an afterthought for me lately - justly, or not. Adding a splitter would be nice, but of greater importance is the need to fix the long balls. THEN we can talk.
  4. My biggest question now is: how are we gonna be able to afford that extra $700k in our payroll??! 😱😞😜
  5. Well we just got a different Trevor, and not a lefty. But he's got a good changeup. Haven't heard who we gave up but it won't be much, I imagine.
  6. The 4-20 record should tell us all we need to know about how ready this team is to win 1 or more playoff series. I know, I know,... injuries in the past and getting healthier. But that stat tells us we are not a marginal improvement away from being more than a wild card team, unfortunately.
  7. If we're exclusively looking for someone cheap outside the org to help, then sure, Paxton is cheap and easy to get after being DFA'd. But if we honestly want an innings eater, that is not Paxton right now. His last 6 starts have gone less than 5 innings while allowing exit velos of 90+. Not to mention low k's (very much so) and high walks Perhaps better than nothing to help spell our back-end starters, but certainly not by much when compared to internal options.
  8. I am, too! Something surprising to me in these examples is that there surely were signs that something was different while these guys were slumping (swing/pitching profile, respectively). Didn't any of the coaches ask "hey, are you feeling alright?"? Would that be a no no to ask a player when they're not performing well? I just don't get how an impactful injury can be "hidden" from guys you're around all the time, ya know?
  9. At the MLB level, that's fair. To date it's been Ober, SWR, and Varland to an extent. But the development of upcoming depth in the minors hasn't been a struggle in a last few years. Of course, MLB pitcher development is all that matters.
  10. Maybe a guy that can contribute next year. Held guys to .570 OPS while walking few and hardly giving up any homers can be useful if he can keep progressing.
  11. Gosh what tough luck for Lewis. It's brutal for us to be stuck with another high-level glass player. My big wish is that Lee produces at a solid level and forces the team to DFA farmer in a monthish.
  12. Not saying I agree or disagree with this theoretical approach, but have y'all considered that guys with injuries in their past likely come with a discount, thus they are more palatable to the Twins? Of course, this wouldn't be the case for all pitchers we've traded for, but nonetheless. I don't think I would automatically say no to a trade until considering the cost, including those proposed above.
  13. I think it's a bit of a stretch to be calling Alcala dominant at any point this year. Dominant relievers don't allow 4 walks per 9. Having said that, I love Alcala and want him in the pen. I'm glad Rocco and Maki are finally utilizing him in the proper way, and I think he figures out his control in the future. We've seen how important it is to have good middle relievers and not just a top heavy bullpen, so we need him to continue to get better.
  14. Ricardo Olivar just keeps chugging away. He's had a pretty consistently very good year with the OPS staying right around 900. Would love for him to keep it going and turn into a real prospect with his versatility (if he can continue improving as catcher).
  15. Hunter Harvey is the only arm of interest to me. Unless the price is unexpectedly low on others, I want nothing to do with a trade for an arm without a track record.
