I have cursed Pagan all season, but he has had several very successful leverage appearances in a row now.

I don't like Pagan all that much, but I don't like Jax more.

So to speak.

Duran's fast ball was all over the place. Mostly way outside and high to left-handed hitters. That's his go-to pitch and when he can't get it over, hitters can sit on the breaking ball.

I wish I was more confident that the Twins' pitching trust could help him find his control again.

Well said!

I’m not ready to trust Pagan, but I recognize that he’s stepped up lately.

Jax? Nope

I did like that today, at least, Pagan threw a lot of fastballs. And pretty well located, at that. IMO he's got enough fastball to do that, and his troubles often arise from breaking balls poorly located, or falling behind with breaking stuff and being forced into "get it over" fastballs.

I nice slider down and away, ahead in the count, is fine.

I'd like to see Jax throw more fastballs, too.

Pagan makes me feel the same way Jesse Crain used to.

Of course, jax makes me feel like Matt guerrier used to.

Poll added that I could use your input on.

Family function today so did not see the game.

On Julien - I have stated this on several previous occasions .... Eddie looks sort of awkward, is not going to win a gold glove this year or likely ever, and makes many fans nervous whenever the ball comes his way in the field, via bat or thrown. There isn't much of an argument for EJ as a finished product. Still, I'm always a little surprised how strongly people feel about his fielding. Julien has two errors (is that correct?) and just a 2-4 misplays by my count. He generally turns the balls hit to him into outs and despite the seeming slowness of his handle at second base also turns every double play opportunity. Julien gets to every ball that either Farmer or Solano would at second base. In fairness Farmer really is decent on the other side of the infield. Despite the cringe factor Eddie has not hurt the Twins in the field this year. That is not to say he won't mess up a dozen plays from now until October. Still, I'm a Julien fan in much the same way that I viewed Koskie. There is room and time for much improvement. Julien will improve because he is not good enough to hold the position for years without improving. He is actually young and has shown some real talent for figuring things out at the plate. Baseball smarts help in the field too.

BTW, how did Julien do today in the field? I see no errors and 1 for 3 and a walk from the batter's box. Let's hope his bat gets red hot again so we can all stop worrying about the glove. He will never be Roberto Alomar, but let him play as long as he hits and makes the plays.

He can catch an egg (silly question and made me laugh).

I'd respectfully disagree with your thoughts. Julien has not converted more than one double play, including one play where he double-clutched before throwing. He's made several bad throws and has not made plays where a hit was ruled. Also he missed a catch on a steal attempt in an effort to make a quick tag. His body of work as a major leaguer has been pretty poor.

That said, he is not hopeless. He made a nice play today on a ball to his right and turned it into an out and made all the other plays. Combined with a hit and a walk today, Julien had a good game.
