Storms are supposed to hit Target Field around 7. I was out golfing in the northwest suburbs and called it after 15 holes because of lightning and thunder.

Just started raining here - 60 mile south of the stadium. Hail coming down in chunks right now. About the size of  Greenland icebergs. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a little... excuse me, I'm going to strip naked and run around the house ...

I confess to having fallen for the hype and getting a pellet smoker. I’ve greatly enjoyed using it. It’s taken bacon to a new level in the IT household.

You'd have to get the photos from the neighbor lady. She might even have video. Chased me around the yard and I was going at a pretty good clip.

Those icebergs were 1" hailstones by the way. Hard on bare feet. I hope I don't come up limping. The son and I are headed to Cedar Rapids for a little Kernel action tomorrow. Do a little bonding. Does that sound corny?

The bacon is the best. I do a couple pounds almost anytime I smoke something else. I’m sure it doesn’t hurt to have the bacon dripping on the anything.

My son just sent me a picture from the internet that included making the chili mixture, putting it in the smoker, with a chunk of beef right above, dripping into the chili as it smokes. It was only a picture, with no recipe, but I’m intrigued.
