ashbury Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Buxton shows trademark speed on that routine hit to the outfield - slid into second but could have come in standing up.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 That's why he's batting fifth, not leadoff.
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Beautiful opening PA by Kepler. That's what the lineup needs: lots of pitches seen and a runner.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 JULIEN! We are not seeing vintage Kluber tonight.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Julien gave that one a ride.
jmlease1 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Julien smoked that one. Nice start to the game. Need more of that offense, looked great.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 New strategy. Start Ryan as an Opener in every road game, so we can score several in the top of the first.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 PB4WEGO. Ugh. I wish they'd bring back the Cenex guy.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Trying a new experiment tonight. Game is muted and I'm listening to Lohengrin. Dick and LaTroy are not singing. Lovely experience so far!
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Max, good a.b. Buck actually kept eye on ball and went with pitch, Julien more Relaxed from Trying to impress at Leadoff, All good signs So Far anyway

mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Miranda, only guy in starting Lineup , with zero Home RUNS,,
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Turner clashes with Red Sox red. Looked much better with Dodger blue.

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Way to start the inning. Keep the line moving, boys.
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Rare sighting: A Gallo Single
Jocko87 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 What percentage of the last 10 years would we have been delighted with this starting lineup?
jmlease1 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Nice to see Ryan have a clean first. kinda strange for him not to strike out at least one guy, lol.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Provus reports that Gallo's batting average went up more than 50 points while he was on the IL. The Twins appealed an error on a ball he hit in the opening series in Kansas City, and it was changed to a hit. Going from four hits to five in 18 at bats lifted him from .222 to .278.

RpR Verified Member Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 If one is hit by a pitch, they should make it so that automatically raises you BA by 5 points.

That DP doesn't happen if the Red Sox runner simply stops running. His running down the line allowed Miranda to swipe tag him and throw to first without any extraordinary athletic ability for an infielder.

He was in postition to tag the runner and then the alertness to make the throw. Not a simple play.

Was a force at home so the extra throw would complicate but should still be made.
