10 pitches and counting.

Rocco will yank him after 3 most likely. Hope Sanchez is up to the task. He can hold it down for awhile to keep us interested until Pagan blows it later in the game

I feel like this season I’m in the film Groundhog’s Day. Every day we lose painfully. But every day I wake up, we’re only a game-and-a-half out of first.

I’m very tired of New York Yankees.   I hope Yankees will not win the WS this season.   I will root for other team playing against Yankees in playoff games.

Gotta assume he's throwing 90-100 pitches regardless.   If he's gone after 3 that means things are probably looking pretty grim

If Megill is not dumped, the Twins are a total joke.

Sanchez is the guy calling breaking stuff. He always does. Maybe someone else is through the intercom system they use now. I really don't know how much control the pitcher has to refuse these days. Especially someon like Megill.

Rocco lost it when he pulled a pitcher that was cruising in Varland. Then he had to burn up the rest of his bullpen. Now we will have to punt this game if we even keep it close because we will be running out the bad part of our bullpen. I’m ready for anyone at this point to take over for him. He has lost us 5-6 games at least this season.

Not many are going to argue about pulling Varland there, however, you have a point. Someone in the dugout could have gotten Sanchez and Varland  together in the dugout and told them what to throw to Judge and Torrez.

Shame we couldn’t trade correa at the deadline and get some return.

We will be stuck with him for another 35 million next year, I bet. I mean, with Turner and others on the market, just like last year, who wants Correa with his cheating history and his lack of production and degrading defense from 2022? He will never get what he wants........ and will try to improve in 2023 and hope time makes more people forget his history. Twins fans will have to wait at least until 2024 perhaps, to not have convenient memory and boo him again.

So, is Varland going to be in the rotation for the rest of the season? It sure seems like it should be.  Easy enough to DFA Archer or Sanchez, or to send Megill back to AAA.

Horrendous AB by Cave. Swung at ball 4 and then walked on strike 3. Yet he is starting every day. And we wonder why we stink.

I am not going to argue that Cave did not look lost for some reason, but the reason we stink was 4 errors last game.

At that Cave walked, unless you prefer outs.

Agree there. It's a combination of things. Not horrendous in any phase of the game, but not good enough in any phase of the game either.

He was hired for his glove first , bat second, without that glove Twins would be fighting Kansas City for third.

LOL. He didn't get $35M for his glove. Nobody gets that for their glove.

If Varland was ready in early September. It makes you wonder why we traded for Mahle considering what we gave up to get him. Most people recognized we have not been a serious contender for this season, so why make that move if you could have brought up a guy with decent looking stuff?

I know I am not in the minority who would be delighted to see Correa opt in to the next 2 years of his contract.

Mahle is a known commodity with team control.  It makes perfect sense why they would trade for him, especially considering the state of their rotation at the time.  Varland in the midst of a great season in AA should have no impact on the Twins adding a quality piece to their team at the trade deadline.

That’s a lot of money to sink in to one guy on what really is a rebuilding team.

hey there’s a big hit from Carlos

No, but if he doesn't hit better, then it's a terrible overpay.

Yeah I think he's probably due for a rebound, and honestly, where else are they gonna spend that money? He's a better player than he's shown this year.

I'm sorry but you don't leave a kid in the game in his 1st MLB start to face Judge a 3rd time, especially after he homered against him in his last AB.  Rocco made the right decision taking him out.  The Twins offense lost this game, plain and simple.

Pretty sure, and I was watching, it was the Twins pitching staff that gave up a 3-1 lead, and then a 4-3 lead in the 12th - both leads the offense gave them. I believe the 2 runs scored on our pitching lost the game in the 12th. My eyes can't let my apologetic brain excuse the facts.

But spent 3 weeks on the IL before we traded for him

Correa did , GG fielding last year made hime top of the line and brought the money, if batting was the reason then Polanco whose 2019 and 2021 are just as good a Correa's should be getting far, far, far more than he does; it is as simple as that.

So you... wouldn't be delighted? And are you in a different minority? Or perhaps in a majority instead?
