rwilfong86 Verified Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Miranda has to get off the bag to keep that run from scoring like Kaat just said.

CRF Verified Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Yep, I think it's safe to say that Miranda needs a little bit of work at 1st.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 A walk, passed ball, and Miranda playing out of position at first. Another run. Even with all players except Urshela and Sanchez playing out of position, I would have had Miranda playing at second and Arraez at first. At least Miranda would have been given a start at his favored position in this odd as can be lineup today.

Montdak Verified Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Miranda bad throw to the pitcher costs. Bad footwork. Miranda not come off the bag to take that throw and save a run. Miranda is choky on defense. Larnach pitched in with a bone-headed base running play to cost a run.

Yep, those blunders are the difference in the game right now
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Our DHs today are hitting .193 and .203 I thought Designated Hitter meant you used someone who hits? ?
rwilfong86 Verified Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Another first pitch swing. Game over.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Darn it, I fell for the Bremer-gasm there. Thought we had a tie game. Also, why did Royce Lewis have to go to AAA to learn to play the other positions while Miranda was forced to learn to play 1B on the fly? Doesn't seem like it's working out for him, he profiled more as a 3B/2B.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Garlick just another few feet short, just like the other day to end the game with the bases loaded. Both long flies ended the game but almost tied them in the 9th. Twins now have lost 4 of the last 6 games....... and to the Tigers and Royals.

And Miranda wasn't forced to learn 1st ... he's played first before, albeit not a lot, but he has. He's played all over the infield

Doctor Gast Verified Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 With what we threw out there today, it didn't turn out too bad but still a loss.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 They scored the Urshela throw an error. Another one that is really on Miranda. At least he is hitting now!
CRF Verified Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 I honestly don't know who it could be with this group...but someone has to put this team on their back and carry us for a couple week stretch. Two guys doing it would be off the charts huge. We just need somebody to get white hot and start hitting the damn ball all over the yard. Right now, no one is really doing anything. If that doesn't happen, I think we're in for a crash.
