Ah ok cool pal and nope can't say that I did. My favorite spot in Iowa City was the Wig and Pen.?

I live in Indiana now, but get back home regularly for work. I was just introduced to Wig and Pen on a recent trip. Definite winner.

I lost all focus while thinking about the pie.

I've been off focus since thinking about catfish ... there's a spot on the Mississippi, in Wisconsin just across from Winona, call the Hillside Fish House ... I want some of their pan-fried catfish

Love having all the speed ahead of Polo as the lineup turns over.

I get that he’s a first overall pick, but for a rookie who didn’t play the last two years, Royce Lewis sure looks comfortable.

I’d imagine they’ll shift him to 3rd and Urshela to first when Correa comes back?  They wouldn’t send him down, right?

Who knows what their plans are ... that would be my plan ... but who knows

Archer must've done downward dog in the dugout after the first

I’ve spent $69.99 in plenty of stupid ways over my lifetime (i.e., going 71 in a 55 just west of Muscatine a few years ago), so I’m seriously considering the rest-of-the-season special from MLB.TV. Apologies for asking question you all have dealt with in other threads.

  1. I know I’m stuck with not getting games the Twins play against the Cubs, Reds, Tigers and the Team-That-Will-Not-Be-Named because I live in the blackout zone. I’ll still be able to watch them play the Team-That-Will-Not-Be-Named on normal cable, right?
  2. How does the whole ZIP code thing operate? If I’m traveling to Iowa, Minnesota or South Dakota on work, which I do a lot, am I going to be subject to those states’ lockout rules? Or will blackout still operate off my home ZIP code?
  3. But in the case of blackout games, am I remembering correctly that I’ll be able to watch them after the fact? Something like 90 minutes later.
  4. What else didn’t I ask that I should have?

On some apps like the DTV app I stream the twins, on when I travel I just have to make sure the location permission is off then the app will presume I am in my billing zip code.

I think I've been there! My brothers and I were tavern cruising our way back from LaCrosse so I'm not sure what I ate, but whatever it was I think it was good.

Sanchez has such raw power. That ball had no business being hit with any power at all, let alone to the wall in right center

He's like Sano, if they manage to make contact it could go out.

Welcome to TD.

Go Hawks.

Looking forward to my first taste of Dane’s Dairy this weekend.

Ever go to the Cheese Factory southwest of town on Highway 1? If so, you were within three miles of the farm I grew up on.

Is Dane’s Dairy still there? I’d figure it was a Menards by now. Kalona. They have good pickles there too.

Archer keeps this up, he might see the 5th inning

Well this aged like white bread

He still probably will, but it's probably not going to be smooth... best case scenario for Archer is to end up in the bullpen sometime this summer, though Paddack's injury and Bundy's return to being mediocre are getting in the way of that.

Very cool, @Dave The Dastardly, on your book!

And one thing I enjoy is pan fried catfish … yum!

oh, and rhubarb! Rhubarb custard pie is great!

Why do these threads always make me hungry?

Save room for late-night chicken.

And might I recommend strawberry rhubarb pie if you are ever in the mood to change it up a bit.

I don't know if all rhubarb plant are this resilient, but my mother brought some plants home to CT from my grandparents' house in IA on one of our summer trips.  We unloaded the car and she forgot about them until we did spring cleaning the next year.  She found the bag, remembered what it was, figured they were dead but gave it a try.  Forty-five years later she still makes rhubarb pie from that patch of indestructible rhubarb.

Apparently this was a thing pre-game?

Man, Oakland's stadium really is in rough shape.

The thing made it al the way to the broadcast booth trying to find a working toilet in that dump.

Looks like archer is done. Not much if a starter if he can’t even start the 5th

Fine by me. They’ve been good at using 4-5 pitchers to only give up a run or 2.

Do the A’s really think the twins are going to risk buxton’s life and limbs by having him steal?

Which is probably not sustainable long term

Maybe so, but if 2/3 of the twins schedule are teams at the caliber of the As or lower, it’ll do for now. Hopefully they’ll all be good and stretched out by the time they play the Yankees.
