  1. Ooo Landon Leach is back. There’s a name I had basically forgotten about. Hope he can find something
  2. Yeah this season has been a dud, but I took my wife and five year old tonight. Great weather and we got fired up during the offense’s outburst. Kepler’s triple was awesome. Fun to enjoy some outdoor, winning baseball on a beautiful evening. Wish we could have more of this.
  3. Games like this from Sano give me fleeting hope. Now I’m buckled up for him to stink for a week. Some consistency would be great from him. Limit the strikeouts, please! I like how his plays 1st base too.
  4. Great write up. I was laughing enough to take the sting out of a loss. Just wish a highlight of Turtle’s route had been included.
  5. I really like this group. Thanks for the write up! Where can I read more about Beck’s circuitous route to MILB?
  6. His diving catch in center last night was sweet
  7. No way they will trade him, but they absolutely should.
  8. Holy smokes. How soon can that Yennier Cano guy get to Minneapolis?
  9. I’m excited these write ups and the minor leagues are returning. Thanks for mentioning that Saints games will be on the radio. That’s really cool and a huge benefit for having the AAA affiliate so close. Can’t wait to listen to a couple of those!
  10. Attended the game today. First one since the pandemic. It was boring as heck. The players seemed as bored as the fans. Until the bats heat up and the players and Rocco show any urgency, I’m not going back. Appreciated Smeltzer’s effort today- he might be our best pitcher. Cave’s effort too (I said in another post that I’d be fine with him carrying us for a couple days).
  11. If Jake Cave wants to carry this team for a while, I’m all for it
  12. Ha! And now another “good story” with Thielbar. He pitched for the Saints! He’s from MN! SMH
  13. Agreed. I am so sick of him. Did Dick just say “Dobnak wondering when his luck is going to change”? Blah blah blah: he’s a starter Blah blah blah: he got a new pitch Blah blah blah: he signed a contract I don’t get it. I have zero faith whenever he’s run out there
  14. As far as a third stringer, I’m not too interested in Romine, Lin, Riddle... I’m curious if Lewis’s injury would open a spot in camp for another prospect like Spencer Steer or Will Holland. Seemed like both of those guys put up good numbers in the minors in 2019
  15. I appreciated the article and think most of the comments are fair. Not much room for him on the roster it seems but I was very impressed by his at-bats this year. He just never seemed to have a throw away plate appearance and with men on base I’d find myself wishing he was up
  16. Not to diminish what Buxton’s done because he’s been awesome the last ~8 games and I agree it doesn’t seem like he’s hit his stride yet, but shouldn’t someone being talked about for Team or AL MVP be able to hit higher than 8th or 9th in the lineup? I just feel like Rocco treats him with kid gloves and frankly I don’t disagree with where he bats him. I wouldn’t want to move him to 1st or 4th in the order (is that where his stats say he should hit?) if it means his average would quickly drop to the Mendoza line. Just seems to me that isn’t the mark of someone being mentioned for MVP...
  17. I appreciate the thoughts but it doesn’t really do much for me. If they want to assure I’ll watch it there’s one simple change they need to make: have it mean something again (winning league gets home field in the WS)
  18. Sweet. Hopefully the: “we’ll be fine because of the soft schedule” attitude is coming to fruition.
  19. Had a chance to go to the Lookouts game last night as I was in town on business. A couple observations: 1. Very nice ballpark and night for a game, but attendance was less than 1,800 attendance the place felt pretty empty. I'm assuming it fills up a bit more when the team is in contention. 2. I wonder if the lack of attendance could also be due partially to the lack of marquee players on the roster. I was scanning it a bit before I got there and Rooker was really the only one I knew anything about. Seems like the Twins system has position players to be excited about in A ball and lower, but not a lot at AA or AAA. 3. I was impressed with Rooker. He was far more athletic than I thought he would be. For some reason, I was picturing him as a Daniel Palka/Tyler Austin-type, but he's much quicker than that. He flew in from third on a passed ball. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by this as he's started 42 games in LF for the Lookouts this season, but it was interesting. Versatility can't hurt!
  20. I'd be 100% fine with that. Clearly there are options at AAA that could hit over .167 and give you adequate defense in CF.
  21. Don't worry about the AAA yo-yo. Just send Buxton down until he's hitting again. That's fine if it's August. Whoever you run out there can't be any worse: just play decent defense and hit like .230. I'd think LaMarre could do that.
  22. I like this approach. Very business-like. Essentially like putting an employee on a Performance Plan. Whether or not they agree with it and buy-in is up to them. My concern is that Mauer won't want to. I tried to watch him closely during the 3 HR inning where he got his first. The entire rest of the team were smiling, jumping up and down, enthusiastic. I literally don't think Mauer ever cracked a smile with his home run. He seems out of place on this youth-forward team. I wish he could embrace his role as the veteran leader and find some enjoyment in trying to leave his legacy.
