  1. My goodness. I've been paying a lot of money for Comcast in large part for BSN and the Twins. I always thought I'd be safe, but I guess I'm not going to cancel Comcast. Wow.
  2. I took the family to the game last night while we’re in Nashville for Spring Break. We had a great time in spite of the frigid weather. Couple impressions of players from what I saw: Keirsey- best player on the field last night. His AB that resulted in a triple was big time- worked like 7 or 8 pitches til he got what he wanted. He had another one the first baseman was lucky to spear or he would’ve had a second triple. Great speed and athleticism- could definitely see him in the Twins infield if needed. Miranda- looked really good at third. His arm was a cannon- clearly nothing lingering from that shoulder injury. Looked good at the plate too. Fajardo- didn’t do much at the plate, but really nice OF defense including a highlight where he ranged far to his right to catch a ball I didn’t think he could get (and then safely navigated the Sounds’ bullpen and the wall in foul territory) Chris Williams- really nice first base defense. He picked anything thrown his way. Helman- arm seems stretched from Shortstop. I spose he’s just holding that down until Brooks Lee is ready, but his throws came in weak and low to Williams. Tanner Morris- what a nice pickup for Cash from the Blue Jays a couple days ago. Nice approach at the plate and solid play in the field. Dalton Shuffield- the “infielders in the outfield” bit is going to get old quickly as his play left something to be desired out there. Boushley- that was awesome. What a great pickup on a minor league deal for the year. He’ll be quality for the Saints even if he doesn’t help the Twins at all. exciting game. Was great Boyle could finish it out.
  3. The offense needs an upgrade and 1st seems like one of the few spots you could try to accomplish this. Go external and get a veteran bat.
  4. Echoing a lot of what others have said here: I’m sad it’s over, but not really mad about it. The better team won. My 8 year old was crying and I was like “buddy, you got to see the Twins not only win a playoff game but an entire series. It’s been like 20 years of disappointment like this for me and think of how much fun we had watching them all summer. Spring is gonna come and we’ll enjoy em again.”
  5. How many of us were counting on Stewart being the revelation he’s been this year? 5 innings just means he’s fresh. It’s not like Paddack’s a rookie with only 5 innings in the Bigs. He’s got a track record. Moving him to the pen might’ve unleashed something…
  6. Respectfully, did you see Paddack’s 3 innings at hitter-friendly Coors Field on Saturday? High 90s, worked quick, looked fresh, confident and intimidating. 4Ks. No hits. I can see why he was on the playoff roster.
  7. My 8 year old is beyond excited. He and I made a roster prediction last night and went 26 for 26!
  8. Found it. Appears they need to be finalized by 10am CST tomorrow (Tuesday). Side note- this website is crashing a lot
  9. When will the Twins' final roster be announced?
  10. I never understood why so many people were saying Ryan had locked up the Game 3 start.
  11. I don’t really want any of these guys. Royce and Polanco are on their way back. Outfield is crowded as-is. Buxton might be heating up? Solano’s a professional right handed hitter…
  12. Does anybody know the deadline for signings? When do we start getting worried?
  13. Draft coverage on this site has been phenomenal as usual. Thanks for all the work on it. I will not be thrilled if this is the route the Twins go. If they do this to go under slot and also get Noble Meyer, I guess I’m ok with that, but this feels like getting too cute to pass on one of the top 5. If they pass on those top 5 guys, I’d rather they take a college pitcher. In the Jacob Gonzalez profile thread someone listed the plethora of minor leaguers the Twins have who are similar to this guy. Seems redundant to what we have. Go pitching…
  14. Fun game but to me it really showed the need for some bullpen help. I thought Rocco managed it well bringing in Duran to face Ramirez and Naylor in the 8th. That’s what I’d want him to do: bring in Duran to put out the fire at the critical time. But if Duran had pitched the night before, who gets the 9th? Lopez would be nerve-wracking. I wouldn’t want to see Jax there. Stewart had already been used. I’d like to see de Leon get some higher leverage opportunities to see what he has, I suppose. Speaking of Duran: that was amazing. Couldn’t throw any of his off speed stuff for strikes but it didn’t seem to matter when he can almost hit 105. Ramirez was trying to time it and even sitting fastball could only barely get a bat on it (though Dontrelle Willis said “he’s right on it”). Gimenez had zero hope to catch up to it. So impressive..
  15. Yes. I had the same thought last night particularly after I saw that Wallner was a single shy of a cycle. I’m fine trading Kepler for a PTBNL or anything because I feel like getting his black hole of a bat out of the lineup would be addition by subtraction
  16. Did Garlick have an option or is he on waivers?
  17. I am so sick of Griffin Jax. I realize the counter argument is: who else is there for that third guy after Duran and Lopez? And there doesn’t seem to be a great answer to that. Stewart’s been a pleasant surprise. Give De Leon more chances? Change Sands role a bit til he proves he can’t do it?
  18. I get that Ober and Farmer will get the majority of the kudos for last night and deservedly so. However, I thought the unsung heroes were: 1. Solano. His double to lead off the game set the tone that Kershaw is human. 2. Castro. Two hits- I believe both off Kershaw. 3. Moran. I’ll admit I groaned when I saw him coming in, but to get 4 outs- and against the guys he did it against, was huge
  19. Right?! if he can’t negotiate the 7-9 hitters without giving up more than 3 runs then what is he doing here?
  20. Cole Sands who struck out 2 in 2 innings of no hit ball last night and whose ERA is 1.50 was “terrible”? Interesting definition of “terrible”
  21. This. I saw the article headline saying that and didn’t bother reading the rest. I watched him closely tonight- I didn’t see him being “unlucky”- the Cubs put together nice at-bats against him using the opposite field when they needed to- quite the concept actually! Switch Pagan and Jax’ roles Send Alcala to AAA and see if he can figure something out Probably need to mess with the batting order a bit (or a lot) too
  22. Donny Barrels got it the eff done tonight.
