It was fun they won 83 games in 2015, thanks to a red hot month of May. There wasn’t a baseline projection of being a playoff team that year. I had a good time poking fun at that roster and their flaws. This year the product is worse than the train wreck in 2016. And for the most part, feels like we’re stuck trying to win while Buxton and Berrios are here. There’s always time to rebuild in the future. I come to TD out of habit, and love for the site over the years. All I can muster for Twins content lately is reading articles here, and the Athletic. I think you're thinking 2018 was a failure and 2017 they overachieved.

Something new will go wrong every game, and if you have the right perspective, you can have a pretty good time! How is it possible, in a season where pitchers are dominating hitters, that practically every new pitching addition has gone up in flames? Is Wes and the other pitching coaches doing anything? What the heck is wrong with everyone?! Wes and Rocco are certainly partially to blame. But let's be honest, this organization does a fine job of finding steaming piles of dung to wheelbarrel to the pitching mound most games. I wouldn't expect them to don hasmat suits in attempt to mold this into art.

Yep, and that 2015 team didn’t make the playoffs. This is monumentally worse.
Longdistancetwins Verified Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Just tuned in. I expected to be losing, but this is way beyond that. I’ll just read your comments, but I can’t watch, I admit it.
SanoMustGo Verified Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 1-2-3 inning. The Royals hitters must be tired from running the bases. We got em' right where we want them. Here is our chance...
jkcarew Verified Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Another dozen or so innings like the 3rd and we’re right back in this thing.

Game7-91 Verified Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 What' more painful, watching Twins pitchers in action or imagining what if felt like when Garver took one to the tender parts? I'm on the fence with this one.........

Hard to imagine an across the board playoff pick losing 100+ games I'll respond to you - because I was thinking the same thing and asked this very same question two days ago on the 6/2 game thread against Baltimore. "What a colossal embarrassment this season has been. I can't recall the last time a 2-time defending division champ, predicted to finish 1st by most experts, has been the worst team in the league. The players have quit, the manager is out of ideas, and the front office is scrambling for excuses."

D. Hocking Verified Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 I was out watering and remembered the game so I checked my phone -- and thought 13 - 0 in the third inning has to be some sort of phone glitch. I then took the dog for a short walk and checked again -- and then checked how half glass full vs glass half empty the game thread was and realized - the score was not an error with my phone.

Hmmm ... so should we be racked with angst that we're getting the stuffing kicked out of us, or should we be glad that somehow, it isn't worse?

Sadly, with this season, I think the "something worse" will always have the potential to just be a game down the road.

AceWrigley Verified Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 I see that Sano has done something other than strikeout, so there is that.
