Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 But umpires are qualified professionals with eagle-eyes who'd never miss something like that or an obvious call at first base that would simultaneously cost a pitcher both a perfect game and no-hitter and be the impetus for the replay rule in the first place, right? It's not only the call on the Arraez play that this home plate umpire is missing.
cHawk Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Arraez is a horrible left fielder! More like Thielbar is a horrible pitcher.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 More like Thielbar is a horrible pitcher. If my left fielder can't catch that ball......... he wouldn't be out in left field. Horrible read. Horrible decision. A left fielder needs to catch the ball.... easy.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 This looks so familiar. We score early, then try and sit out a lead. Unfortunately our bullpen has no clue.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Any of you ever see the movie, Cool Hand Luke? Twins remind me when Luke gets everyone to bust their butts, so they can sit back and relax. Only difference the road gang finishes tarring the road.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 With both Waddell and Rogers fresh and rested, I find it puzzling that Rocco decided to go with the one lefty who worked yesterday. Rocco seems like he's always saving his best guys for later, always keeping something in his back pocket. That's great sometimes, but there are other days where you've just got to play your best guys and go for the damn jugular.
cHawk Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Well that was lucky. I want Robles/Duffey/Rogers/Alcala for these last 3 innings. If you can give one multiple innings then DO it.
jun Verified Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Thielbar should always come in when there is no one on base.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Twins with 3 hits through 6 innings off Dane Dunning. Two lucky runs, too. Offense still sputtering.
jkcarew Verified Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 I keep looking at the score. It says we’re winning.
cHawk Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 We should be able to hit Dane Dunning.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Weird day so far, Maeda had no idea where his pitches were going, but when they did hit the strike zone, the Rangers hitters didn't know what to do. I guess that's a step in the right direction for him. If Thielbar can't get the lefties out, then he has no role on this team.

We should be able to hit Dane Dunning.Dunning's career so far: I dunno, he's had a strong start to his career and he's a former Top 100 prospect. He's clearly a MLB caliber starter.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 I can't believe Buxton can't score from second on that slow grounder to short.......
RickOShea Verified Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Mr Dunning did a good job. Plus, the Twins helped him out. So, dunning stays in the Ranger's rotation for at least another month. Thank you Twins.
cHawk Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Does Sano have any options left? Would still take him ANY DAY over Cave
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Still talkin' October baseball. Homers.
