GAME THREAD: 8/4/20 Minnesota Twins vs. Pittsburgh Pirates 1:10 CDT

[Squirrel]

Fair enough, but you might want to pre-negotiate the laundry disposition for those pants.  Just sayin'.

Yeah, this tangent is getting ishy

[LaBombo]

"Up in the Pirates bullpen...Dovydas Neverauskas-Ortellus the odds!"

[Whammy]

Kepler: 0 AB, 4 PA

[Squirrel]

We all remember that in an earlier phase of his career Chief was an English teacher.

Yeah, no matter the phase, that look on his face is all the same

[twins1095]

The Pirates are an awful team.

[sampleSizeOfOne]

Hey Carole...what's your take on Pittsburgh's relievers?

Your Pirates' pen stance?

Crickets...

Okay, Iolanthe-r for her?

They are all noble men who have gone wrong.

[USAFChief]

Honest to god I started brewing a batch of beer right before this game started and I’m almost finished and it’s the 5th inning

easy fix. Drink!

[Vanimal46]

This is the Nik Turley I recall. The one that can’t find the strike zone.

[Squirrel]

Oh better far to live and die

Could also have said 'hold monsters' ... but this game didn't seem to quite go that far

[USAFChief]

Gregory Polanco ties a MLB record1!!1

[sampleSizeOfOne]

Oh better far to live and die

Doh. Sorry... You're back.

My bad.

[Aggies7]

easy fix. Drink!

Haha won’t be drinkable for months, but at this rate...

[Squirrel]

Doh. Sorry... You're back.

My bad.

Briefly ... have to get back into this dusty ol' library and continue with my digital catalog project ... it's keeping me out of trouble when there is no work ...

[USAFChief]

Could also have said 'hold monsters' ... but this game didn't seem to quite go that far

Yeah, this tangent is getting icky

[Squirrel]

Yeah, this tangent is getting icky

I think you started all the tangents here ...

Oh dry the glist'ning tear

[USAFChief]

The game plan against Kepler was to not throw strikes to him until his fourth at bat.

"Plate appearance"

[USAFChief]

How far in the past did you have to go to dig up that quote from whoever it was but isn't famous now?

I went back to the future.

[Mill1634]

Buxton can fly

[Don Walcott]

Buxton gets that.

[USAFChief]

Nice catch, Buxton.

[Vanimal46]

Without Buxton’s wheels that’s a double.

[John Kelsey]

Man, what a catch.

[LVTwinsfan]

Buxton took a double away

[sampleSizeOfOne]

I think you started all the tangents here ...

Oh dry the glist'ning tear

Chief calling for tangent he started to stop?

A most ingenious paradox...

[MVP Nick Punto]

I really like Buxton when he's not falling on his hip from 20 ft in the air.

[MMMordabito]

The current pitcher doesn't try to please people to gain personal advantage.

[twins1095]

I will know that Sano is on when he takes that outside pitch and drive it to left center.

Edit - He almost did 2 pitches later, but just got underneath it.

[MVP Nick Punto]

The current pitcher doesn't try to please people to gain personal advantage.

That's wise on his part. When I try to please people to gain personal advantage, I always end up having angry meetings with HR.

[sampleSizeOfOne]

Dear Dairy,

Should i put cheese or butter on toast?

[nicksaviking]

Yeah, this tangent is getting icky

Disagree, this tangent is impressively erudite.

In the Milwaukee games threads they pat each other on the back for Curious George quotes.
