Detroit has to go 4 and three to win 50 games this season

They took three of four from the Twins at the end of the 2003 season to avoid tying the Mets for the worst record in modern MLB history.  Of course, the Twins had already clinched and the Tigers only needed one win to avoid Metropolitanesque infamy.

Any news on Kepler?

 

Heard Baldelli say on the Radio that Kepler was participating in full activities today and they are going to see how he does with that. 

 

I'm not sure exactly what "Full Activities" means... I assume it means, he ran, threw, hit, went to parade, ate at a restaurant, searched for metal in the sand with a detector and he made a quilt.

Gotta think if I'm the Tigers FO that I'd be pretty pissed if the team somehow lost the #1 overall pick in next years draft.

 

The Tigers drafting 2nd would mean a big winning streak to catch the Orioles. 

 

For our sake at this moment... We want them drafting first.

I don't know if any manager in the history of the game would have had a successful season with this group of players.

Also, Gardy even publicly said that he'd understand if he wasn't back next year.

I was thinking for Max it meant he ate some sauerbraten, took in a soccer game, listened to some house music, and did some daily tasks with ruthless efficiency.

With his contact skills... if Rowson can only get him to be more selective. He could become a pretty dynamic hitter pretty quickly.

Gardy seems to have skills working with his superiors based on his ability to hang on to a job. 

 

I think he is around for awhile. 

 

To me the question is: What will Gardy do with an actual rebuilding team. We never went through an actual rebuild while Gardy was manager for us. 

 

Can he do it... Does it make him the right candidate?

I'd argue we were actually rebuilding during his last tenure here whether admitted (or done well for that matter) or not.

Confirmed over 2018 and 2019 seasons. Until tonight, they have not each had a walk in the same game.

 

I am glad it is not that full moon Friday the 13th of a couple of days ago -- it might have been one of the signs of the Apocalypse.

I won't argue with you... I'll say you were right... It wasn't done well. 

 

Rebuilding with guys like Doumit, Clete Thomas, Jamey Carroll and Kevin Correia while suppressing playing time for young players like Arcia, Hicks,  Hendriks and Tonkin is certainly a change from the typical formula.  :)
