Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 He's not terrible, probably better than every starter they faced in the KC series (which isn't saying much). No not terrible by any stretch and I'd bet he'd have better stats on the Twins or any other contender, but still 3-15, 4.66 ERA, 1.4 WHIP doesn't scream average to me. A 4.66 ERA basically means inconsistent. A 4.66 ERA over a season will mean he occasionally has a good game and be problematic for the opposing team. If he was bad every time he took the mound his ERA would be 26.75. BTW... The guy with the 26.75 ERA... that's the one I want the Twins to Face.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Detroit has to go 4 and three to win 50 games this season
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Just enjoy the ride, no reason to get anxious before we even get started!I'm with the SwainZag! There's always time to panic.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Should have been a triple. Cave didn’t play that well I'm surprised it wasn't. The CF had to pick it up. That's a tough corner in Detroit.

denarded Verified Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Excuse my ignorance, but who is the color guy in the booth with Bremer
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Those last two flyball outs looked like pop ups coming off the bat but drifted fairly deep. The Home Run might be a factor.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 I am under the opinion that we should try and win this game! Who's with me? I live in a juniper/pinion forest. So I'm often under a pinion.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Excuse my ignorance, but who is the color guy in the booth with Bremer Sounds like Smalley.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 woof... guess I'm a White Sox fan for the next 3 nights too... The White Sox are my second favorite team . . . for today.

bighat Verified Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Sounds like Smalley. Yep Roy Smalley in the booth with Dick.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Other than Sano, who had his worst at bat in a week and a half, everyone has made pretty solid contact.
bighat Verified Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 WALK for Astudillo! OK, this is the Twins night....
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 That was only Astudillo's eighth plate appearance that went 3-0...
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 WALK for Astudillo! OK, this is the Twins night.... With his contact skills... if Rowson can only get him to be more selective. He could become a pretty dynamic hitter pretty quickly.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Astudillo and Castro for Gonzalez and Garver is quite a step down.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 I just looked it up: the Twins record when Astudillo takes a walk is 3-3. Pro tip: If you search "Tortuga" on Baseball-Reference, it redirects you to Astudillo's page.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 That was only Astudillo's eighth plate appearance that went 3-0... He treats the batters box like a basketball player treats the three second lane.

LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Castro hit a wall so very hard the past two and a half months.that was a good at bat though

I wanna see how good you are.
