Is it just me or are Twins pitchers just not attacking the strike zone like they were earlier in the year?

It's strange that I've gotten to the point where I'm looking forward to the Twins going on road trips. Seem to play a lot better there

I think we are witnessing what happens to a team that is not used to playing under pressure. This is a team that was rolling along, had a huge lead, then Cleveland got on the Twins tail and the Twins are crumbling, mentally.

What this team really needs is a guy who's gonna lose his sh** in the dugout right now.  We are literally watch the season go down in flames before our eyes.

Arraez is not the 2nd baseman of the future. He will give the Twins a .750 OPS at best. Hopefully it's Lewis/Polanco in the future.

I have some sympathy for that POV. The umpires take it upon themselves to try to encourage fair play. That's probably somewhere in the rules, worded indirectly.

 

But the strike zone is also in the rules, and defined pretty specifically in regard to the knees and so forth.

I remember a while back when we were seemingly cruising to the division title, I posted that it would benefit us to play meaningful games as the season went along to get that playoff experience. Never wanted the lead to drop so precipitously but I thought it would benefit us to sweat a little. Clearly it hasn’t, at all
