David HK Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Checking in with the game as I go about chores-- But man, that lavender Minnesota sky on the broadcast tonight looks absolutely gorgeous.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Nice battle by Odo to get through 6.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Way to go, Jake!!! Call me crazy, but I'd send him out there for the 7th. He's got 9-1-2 coming up and he's owned all 3 of those guys, especially Acuna. Don't be a slave to the pitch count, he's still got the velocity.lol, yeah, he’s done for the night
crapforks Provisional Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Cleveland challenging a fair/foul leadoff double in the 9th
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 If Kepler isn’t an MVP candidate, that means there’s only one candidate. Not sure about that... Trout is obviously going to be the MVP. Kepler isn't top 10 in OPS and isn't in the top 10 position player WAR (according to BBref). He should get some votes, at the very least.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Try imagine you are golfing, it's a 200 yard par 3. Standing in the tee box, picking up the golf ball, throwing the ball into the hole. That would be a 600-foot toss. That's called a howitzer.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Gift ball there from the ump on Cruz there, right down the pipe that one was.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Nice outing by Jake, admittedly I didn't see 6 innings of 1-run ball coming after the first couple innings, don't think many of us did. Should be a good test for the bullpen. Have to assume Romo's unavailable. Harper, May, Rogers is the plan here?Half this board was pulling him after 4....in the 2nd inning, despite zero solid contact. It was pretty funny actually.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Ramirez with a lead off double for Cleveland in the bottom of the 9th. Texas challenging it for being (barely) foul.New York blew it on that review.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 I just noticed Kepler’s BABiP was .254 heading into the game. What if that evened out?
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 He was safe!!!!!!!This aged well!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 That would be a 600-foot toss. That's called a howitzer. OK... How Bout this one. Try to imagine you are at Marshall County Fair. The Marshall County Dairy Princess is in the dunking booth. You dunk her from the tilt-o-wheel.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 lol, yeah, he’s done for the night Lol, far later than most predicted. He'll take the quality start.
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Minor is a better pitcher than Stroman. He is the one I really like.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Man on 3rd for the Indians, one out in the 9th.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Runner on 3d for Cleveland, one out.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 You are a Dr. Seuss!!! ... which rhymes with juice, which is what Kepler applied to that baseball.
Blake Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Author Posted August 6, 2019 I didn't think Odorizzi would make it through 5, let alone 6. Good job, Mr. Odorizzi!
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Texas trying to hang on. Two outs now with runner on 3d.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 OK... How Bout this one. Try to imagine you are at Marshall County Fair. The Marshall County Dairy Princess is in the dunking booth. You dunk her from the tilt-o-wheel. And?......go on.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Indians sacrified the runner to third, for the first out. Kipnis grounded out weakly, for out #2. Fingers still crossed... / ninja'd a bit, but hopefully some worthwhile detail contained...
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Not sure about that... Trout is obviously going to be the MVP. Kepler isn't top 10 in OPS and isn't in the top 10 position player WAR (according to BBref). He should get some votes, at the very least.I presume not many NL players will be getting AL MVP votes, so he’s top 10. And good luck to Moncada getting votes on a losing team or any Red Sox getting votes on an underachieving team.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Opportunity is there...Rangers win 1-0!
bighat Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Texas does hang on, 1-0 final in CLE.
Darius Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Indians lose. Lead off double doesn’t score.
