Bieber becomes the first pitcher since 2017 to throw three complete games in a season! Let's name a holiday after him!

Sounds like you may have Bieber fever.

So do you save Romo and Rogers for Atlanta by bringing in Harper and May to close it out?

Rogers has had two days off, using him in the 9th is fine. I wouldn't send Romo out there, however.

Despite the one bad pitch to Castro, really liked that outing from Keller.  He's gonna be tough to deal with in the coming years...provided the Royals can find a way to hang on to him.

I know you're being snarky, but Smeltzer flew in yesterday so you have a moot point.

As did Dyson before the Royals game where he imploded.

Nobody disagrees that his use in the Miami game was questionable.

Multiple posters have said that it's not fair to a pitcher to ask them to pitch if they've flown in recently. Irresponsible, even.
Apparently it takes several days of settling in before a guy can be expected to do his job.
So, I'm saying, if Smeltzer is this good after having just flown in to town, imagine how good he would be if Rocco let him settle in before throwing him to the wolves?

Smug is rarely a good look, we get it you disagree, next.

As of now, he could probably pitch again tomorrow. Throw him in the 8th and he’s a for sure no go.

Agreed. It was basically picking who you'd rather have unavailable tomorrow -- Romo or Duffey. Duffey matches up better with the Braves as the Braves lineup typically consists of 4 or 5 left handed/switch hitters, mixed throughout their lineup. I don't mind going to Romo here, especially in a two run game.

No, Dyson flew in THAT day, like two hours before he found himself on the mound in a SAVE situation. Smeltzer has been in Minnesota and got a full night of sleep. Not the same at all.

I'm referring to Friday's game against KC, not Thursday in Miami.

I think it would be great if Rocco can establish a trend of Romo getting the 8th and Rogers getting the 9th and settling into this groove.  Historically good teams had a back end that was roughly the same every time that team had the lead.

Fantastic inning from Romo. Only threw 6 pitches. Let him pitch the 9th? He is already more than likely unavailable for tomorrows ball game.

Why would he be unavailable tomorrow after throwing just 6 pitches?

Are we really arguing about whether Dyson has looked bad vs. terrible? We get it, he's stunk so far. Nobody is happy with how he's performed. He's been a bad addition so far and we are all disappointed.

Meanwhile the Twins are leading with the 9th coming up, going for the sweep! Let's close this one out!

He's thrown three of the past four days. He through 14 Thursday, 25 Friday, zero yesterday, and 6 today.

It isn't even the game pitches that are the big deal. It is getting lose and the recovery aspect. I would be very surprised to see him used tomorrow, but who knows.

Is this guys name really Dick LoveLady?

No, the second L isn't capitalized.

He's pitched in 4 of the last 5 games now, so I'm thinking it's because of the overall cumulative workload.

I imagine he needs at least 24 hours to get his heart rate back to normal after an appearance.
