crapforks Provisional Member Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Again, didn’t see it posted. Hopefully Wade can get into a few games.
SpicyGarvSauce Verified Member Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Good to see - I think Cave wore out his welcome a bit during his most recent call up. Too bad about Cron - won't have him next weekend in Cleveland, either. Does Sano go to first? Do they go with Adrianza? Marwin? Probably a mixture.
crapforks Provisional Member Posted July 6, 2019 Author Posted July 6, 2019 I think it would be wise to keep running Sano out at third. He’s penciled in there for next season, I believe. Adrianza and Gonzalez can fill in at first. Wade and Gonzalez can take over LF (and RF if Kepler sits or moves to CF/DH for a game)

SpicyGarvSauce Verified Member Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 What's up with Cron? Right thumb inflammation.
crapforks Provisional Member Posted July 6, 2019 Author Posted July 6, 2019 Re: Gleeman’s take on this. Not much production would be expected from either Cave or Wade. However, Wade can have value by simply working the count in his PA. Cave just doesn’t seem to have that skill, at least not yet. I’m sure the players hitting behind Arraez have enjoyed those extended ABs he has had. Hopefully Wade can pull that off from the 8th (9th?) spot in the lineup when he gets in there.
birddog Verified Member Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Tough loss as Cron has been so good with the bat as well as the glove. I would be very happy with him at 1B for the next few years. How many throwing errors has he taken away from Polanco alone? This keeps Arraez up for sure for another couple weeks at least which I like. We seem to have the hitting depth in the minors to overcome loss of our hitters. Wish we could say the same about the pitching.

Also, Polanco had 3 throwing errors in half a season last year. He already has 8 this year.

Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Wade got robbed of a hit, and got hit by a pitch last time up.

Monkeypaws Verified Member Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 This would've been a nice time to give Zander Wiel his turn, seeing as he's been playing lots of 1b in Rochester.

Would require a 40 man move, and although the Twins have an open spot, I doubt adding Wiel is something they prefer.

I'd like to get a glimpse to see if Wade has what it takes to stick as a 4th OF.

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 This must be Cron using his left hand for the thumbs up since the right one is injured.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 It's 10 days but only 5 games. Unfortunately 3 are against our most important competition.

Also, it would be interesting to know what Cron's errors were exactly. Fielding grounders? Missing popups? And there's the one error where Odorizzi faked him out and he didn't see Schoop's throw.

I suppose that’s likely a dropped throw from an infielder

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Wade to IL. Bring up Rooker.Well, there is a spot on the 40-man to add Rooker, but I’m not sure the Twins will do that yet.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Rosario should be ready to go after the All-Star break. To add Rooker for one game doesn't make much sense unless they would keep him to play first base until Cron is back.
