Rosario was batting .300 at the end of the game 12 days ago. I hope his cold spell is finished soon. Still is tagging the ball........

Bremer is making a good point, about the fact the Twins are doing well outside of the division.

Should be interesting once the Twins start playing KC, Detroit and the Sox.

Hard to believe 3rd, 2nd and 1st were all replaced in the off-season and the new acquisitions are paying off.

The Twins have 13 games against KC, Detroit, and the White Sox to end the year with. If they are in a battle for division or wild card....... that should be a welcome stretch.

Boy, what an inning the 4th was! I'm really loving this offense! This team feels like it's legitimately good... and it's been a long, long time since I had a feeling like this.

Currently, even with the 11-0 whooping, we are tied for runs scored in this series at 14.  I'd like to see us outscore them for the series.

Apparently I need to stop listening. Here for the start, we fall behind. I go away, we score 8 unanswered. Later!

On fangraphs, our win projection is now within 3 of the Indians, and we have a 71% chance to make the playoffs (really 54ish%, since  only 37 of that 71% is from winning the division).

Does the indians win projection also include not having Kluber for 2 months?

Fun to watch this version of the Twins, knowing every time someone swings the bat, they're quite capable of depositing the ball in the seats.

Did Morneau put on batting gloves to mime the swing bit?.... or does he wear batting gloves in the booth?

When it's cold out he wears the gloves

later today, I believe, it changes.

So what you're saying is we may see cleveland's projection drop just a bit? I can live with that. I would've preferred we beat Kluber instead of him getting hurt though.

TD style sheet says the proper answer to this kind of question is: Yes.

Yes. Have Kluber out is not good for baseball.

there are three ways they predict the standings....some of which include playing time.

Alex
2:39 Why does the projected wins amount differ when you go from the projected standings tab to the playoff odds tab (only a slight difference but you'd figure they'd be the same?)
Craig Edwards
2:41 playoff odds factor schedule into them. The projected standings tab gives you the best idea of true talent while the playoff odds should do a better job projecting the rest of the season because teams can play very different schedules. The ROS schedule is in the playoff odds so you can compare.

also, at the end of this article:

https://blogs.fangraphs.com/losing-corey-kluber-isnt-what-the-indians-needed/

For all of their woes, somehow the Indians (16-13) are just two games behind the Twins (17-10), but their odds of winning the division have faded from 88.6% at the outset of the season to 62.0%, and they’ll fall further once our depth charts are adjusted to account for Kluber’s absence. For those hoping that the AL Central would feature an actual race, this added setback certainly increases the odds, but this is a lousy way for it to happen.
