Game Thread: Twins vs Tigers 11:10 AM PT (1:10PM CT) 4/13/2019

Despite the outcome of the last game the Twins played against the Mets, the Twins still came away with a winning road trip. An outcome that was lacking last year.

 

Unfortunately, the Twins return home to play the Tigers, managed by ex-Twins manager, Ron Gardenhire, who appears to have his club playing well. At least, according to the standings.

 

And, more importantly, the Twins get to put the silly "futility player" of the NL behind them. Yes, I mean the lack of DH where the pitcher "hits," hence, "futility player."

 

With that, we move on to more pressing matters, such as, pitching.

 

Specifically, starting pitching.

Detroit: Tyson Ross.

 

Looks to be a good one...for a Twins win, amiright!

Maybe 40 during the game, little wind and some blue sky spots in a mostly clouding sky. PLAY BALL!

The snow days almost always peter out by the Fourth of July. So any game this time of year is like free ice cream. Nom!

I have yet to attend a game at Miller Park, but an acquaintance of mine who has said it was like being inside a giant coffee can.

They look horrible on TV. Lettering is illegible. Looks like something a kid cooked up in the uniform design studio of a video game.

There was a twin domes concept during the stadium process - side-by-side stadiums with a roof on tracks covering one stadium at a time. Of course, there was never a possibility of the Wilfs and the Pohlads gettng together on it, but it was an interesting concept that I think could have saved the feel of the stadiums.  

 

I can't find any trace of it online now, but they did have fairly detailed plans at the time.
