LISTEN: Fan Has Rocco Baldelli's Old Number

There's a Boston sports fan, Giana Manzi, who apparently has Rocco Baldelli's old phone number. Baldelli apparently didn't broadcast his number switch. And, as you can imagine, her phone is blowing up right now.

It's an amusing sub-story on the day the Twins announce their 14th manager in club history.

Since analytics are based purely on numbers over any other criterion, just hire her as the manager and be done with it. Maybe she could manage in parks west of the Mississippi against left handed pitchers. The players would probably really like her and she owes the Twins something for Big Pappy so she may come cheap.

Sigh. Seriously.

On the other hand, she used analytics to correctly deduce Rocco Baldelli had been hired, before it was announced.

Might not be a bad hire.

Well, that brings back fond college memories of answering midnight phone calls for delivery pizza to the Dominos that had a nearly identical phone number.

And how many times did you pretend to be Dominos, take the order and tell them it will be there in 1/2 hour?

Guilty as charged. But I only did that to the repeat "customers". And not on a school night, because there's a pretty good chance that when the pizza doesn't show up in half an hour, they'll make the same mis-dial when they call to complain.

I thought the general rule was, that if you see a company advertise pizza on a national TV spot you should be ordering from somewhere else.
