I'd note that it looks like the hurricane is now going to head up the east coast of FL instead of the west. That alone is a godsend (especially to those in Fort Myers, Tampa, etc). That will leave the strong side of the hurricane in the ocean. Miami residents are still screwed unfortunately. Stay safe.

We're breathing smoke from the Montana fires all the way down here in New Mexico. I wonder if Kansas City's air is also affected.

 

Heard other stories from friends about people stuck in Florida, deciding whether to try to drive, or worried about getting on the road, getting stuck in traffic, running out of gas and then getting hit by the hurricane while on the road. Here's hoping the path of this monster misses Florida as much as possible.

Just looked at a map of the smoke, and KC is right in the middle of it.  It's probably worse up here in the mountains, but it's still heading east from here and disbursing across the plains.

I know we complain about Molitor's lineups sometimes, but why is Moustakas batting 6th?  He has 35 homers and is second on the team in OPS.  Wouldn't you want him batting 4th every night?

Dozier had at least 10 junk touches between each pitch, with a high of 17 separate touches/adjustments (that was on tv, anyway, so i might have missed some) between a pitch during that first at bat. He is definitely rivaling Nolasco, now.

Watching the Polanco no doubter off the bat double again, coupled with the lollipop throw in from the warning track, I am amazed that Mauer could not score from first .... on a double...... on that play.
