ANNND Welcome back! To Minnesota Twins Whine Line on a Sunday. Well, that game didn't go exactly as planned yesterday... On a positive note, Mejia looks like he's gelling into a decent pitcher they can count on in the future! The Twins have one last game in Oakland before taking the day off for moving day. Before we get into more debauchery, let's talk weather and lineups.

 

It's looking like a picture perfect day! Sunny without a cloud in the sky and 74 degrees at first pitch. REAL FEEL of 78 degrees. Winds out of the W at 10 MPH.

 

Minnesota Twins (50-52):

 

P - Big Sexy ® - How many more starts do we have the privilege(?) of watching.

 

Oakland A's (45-59):

 

P - Jharel Cotton ® - Hasn't pitched since July 3rd!

 

Alright, it's time for everyone's favorite segment, the HAWT Taeks of the Day!

 

- Sometimes patience is not needed at the plate... The HOT thing that millenials and 30 odd year olds do these days is to throw a gender reveal party for their pending child on the way. Really it's a way to get people together to drink heavily for a reason other than just to drink heavily. This couple decided to have a baseball related reveal, and boy did that guy choose the wrong time to take a pitch!

- Erv on the move? Did you hear the HOT RUMOR that the Yankees had a discussion with the Twins about Ervin Santana? There's been so many names and scenarios being thrown around that it's IMPOSSIBLE to keep track of! We heard through the grapevine at Whine Line that Ervin IS on the move... On the flight back to Minneapolis with the team.

 

- Where did this FO learn their tricks? Minnesota Twins fans over the last 20 odd years were accustomed to moving slooooowly and conservatively during the trade deadline. Can't make TOO BIG of a splash! Now with Falvine, it's tough to keep up whether they're buy buy buy! Or sell, sell, sell. Is it possible that Derek Falvey is actually Jim Cramer from Fast Money with a wig on?! We demand a full investigation!

Summer Meme: Every summer the teens and millenials create a new summer "meme" that everyone copies and posts on social media. 2 years ago it was the ice bucket challenge... Last year it was flipping a half full water bottle on to a table. This year? The "drive-by dunk" where you find a home with a basketball hoop and dunk it. We don't get why this is a cool thing to do! Does that mean we're no longer HIP, now, with it, and wow anymore? What did you do in the summers to pass the time?

You may kiss the Topps card now. Careful, though, it's a Cy Young rookie card.

So far this year, I've terraced the side of the front yard, planted several bushes and trees, replaced a fence post or three, installed two water heaters, put in a new faucet and installed a Garage Door Butler. tm

 

edit: After looking at my list, I now realize where all my weekends have gone this year.

Mrs. Blake has you working non-stop! But the progress has to be rewarding with a fresh looking yard, and water at the temp you want it!

I hopefully thinking, it was a joke as to the kissing the Cy Young Rookie Card, as I believe that card doesn't exist..............................IF IT DOES? DON"T KISS IT!!!!!!!!!!

I see Colon is bringing up the rear of the lineup card.

I'm glad that you had the intestinal fortitude to pull off such wit. Many would just make an ass of one's self attempting such witty remarks.

I missed what appears to be a Dozier lead off home run, but seeing Mauer double and Esco knock him in was nice. Great start to this game, and I guess we'll need it with Colon on the mound.

Maybe the offense won't go dormant this time after putting a few on the board.

Been watching the Hall of Fame coverage today.  Seeing them introduce all the HOF'ers in attendance beforehand really made me miss Kirby again.  =(

In the game against the Dodgers, Colon was impressive during the early innings then it seemed like he got tired. Unless we score more runs, I hope that Molitor is quick to pull Colon today if he falters.
