Game Thread: Twins vs Orioles 7/9 1:10 CT

[drock2190]

Gibson is doing his best to make Twins fans forget about baseball during the All Star break.

[Danchat]

zero reason to keep Gibson in with the ASB. all hands on deck. Might as well finish it the way weve done it most of the year.

By having our bullpen allow them to score double digits, you mean?

[notoriousgod71]

Molly a day late and a dollar short in getting someone up in the pen.

[spinowner]

Just turned the game on. WTF?

[Cap'n Piranha]

So much for the new and improved Kyle Gibson.

[nmcowboy]

I just hope those outfield walls were tested vs. granite or a similar igneous rock....

Mr. Granite, tear down that wall! (in a voice that sounds vaguely like the late Ronald Reagan.)

[Aggies7]

Brutal. Limping into the break. Have a good afternoon everyone.

[notoriousgod71]

PUT IN BARTOLO!!!!!!

[Cap'n Piranha]

Mr. Granite, tear down that wall! (in a voice that sounds vaguely like the late Ronald Reagan.)

Why do I never hear anything about the early Ronald Reagan? Is it my ears?

The Orioles begin bombing in five minutes!

[BoofBonser]

*sigh* I think we used all of our comeback magic up for this series already... Hard to win when you fall behind early all 4 games

[Riverbrian]

Dear Kyle,

The Orioles seem to like the ball up in the zone. Throw it lower.

Sincerely,

Riverbrian

I think Dozier has been quite mediocre in the field this year.

[Cap'n Piranha]

Huh. Gibson makes it through the second. I would have lost that bet.

[Riverbrian]

Just turned the game on. WTF?

Just in time for an amazing comeback.

[nmcowboy]

uh oh, looks like "Bad" Kyle (aka Kyle Gibson, Killer of Bullpens aka KGKOB) has shown up today.  Put out an APB for "Good" Kyle anyone?

Can we please DFA  Gibson!  If you can't figure out how to retire MLB hitters in 113 career starts, you will never figure it out.  Kiss the rest of the $2.9mil we foolishly agreed to pay him this season goodbye, and move on.  Give his roster spot to Gonsalves or Slegers.  At least they've got the potential to learn how to pitch in the Majors, unlike Gibson.  Hell, I assume they promised Colon that he'll either get a start or release in the next couple of weeks.

[Squirrel]

Ugh!  Sorry you've had it rough this weekend!  Put up your bad leg and relax, if the Twins lay an egg you can find plenty of good garbage TV on YouTube and Netflix.

Following the PRICE protocol. And I can still shoe shop online. Yes, and garbage television. Always good combinations.

Umm, I think it's too late??

[BoofBonser]

Back to back at-bats with 3-1 counts and thrown a fastball and both miss it

[jimmer]

Ah Gibson.

Anyone still think he's turned it around and might be on his way?

[Cap'n Piranha]

This would be a great time for Granite's first career hit.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

It seems like every time Granite bats, he falls behind 0-2 and then works the count full

[BoofBonser]

Watch how Twinsie this next at-bat Dozier's gonna have

[Kwak]

None of those boring 1-0 games with Gibson pitching.  Maybe he lucks out again as the Twins score ten to twenty runs?

[Riverbrian]

Small sample size obviously but after watching two Granite AB's and seeing the quickness of his swing and his patience at the plate. The guy is built for contact.

Molitor will be telling Falvine that he'd like him to stay.

[Cap'n Piranha]

Jimenez getting squeezed on that low strike right now.

[wavedog]

Say this about Granite he will give the pitcher a battle - would make a nice leadoff hitter if he shows he can hit at this level.

[SwainZag]

We on the booooooard

[Cap'n Piranha]

We on the booooooard

YES!
