Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 These nicknames hearken back to about 30 years ago when Chris Berman on ESPN was topical and funny. SportsCenter and Baseball Tonight were must-see back in the pre-internet days. His nicknames were not really nicknames but they were often entertaining. I always liked Bert "Be Home" Blyleven.Baseball Tonight was appointment TV for me in the late 90's- 2000's... Couldn't go to bed without knowing what the web gems were that particular night!

bighat Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 3 BB's Twins BETTER score!!!! 3 walks and a single, somehow still haven't scored...
Twinsbar107 Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 3 walks and a single, somehow still haven't scored...To be fair, Kepler also should have walked, and that would be a run.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Phil "Mcrib" Hughes. Yes!! Winner. I'm using this nickname from now on for Hughes.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Dozier really killed that inning
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 What just happened? Did that ball go to the right-field side of second?Wind blown
Dozier's Glorious Hair Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 All those walks, and Grossman's not even in the lineup. That just seems wrong.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Dozier really killed that inning Understandable he wanted to get things going. But turned out to be huge. A guy throws you 4 straight balls, maybe see if he walks the next guy?
Jerr Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 3 walks and a single, somehow still haven't scored...I know there's a limit on "likes"; wonder if, there's a limit on: ????
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Impressive they managed not to score there. Not every team could do that.
Twinsbar107 Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 So far, this game has an odd feel to say the least.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Sano's got an arm. big league play right there.
Jerr Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Impressive they managed not to score there. Not every team could do that.Ya, sure made me proud, I assume you referred to that Twins inning
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Impressive they managed not to score there. Not every team could do that.Look, we got a "big" hit last night. Can't expect them every night or every week for that matter. Otherwise, they wouldn't be so big now would they?
