Hocking Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 At that point, you get tunnel vision and you just tell yourself you're almost doneKinda like watching the Vikings last year after the bye week I would do the same thing, but I ran distance (occasionally would run the 400 for the mile relay). It was not always effective if you had to say you were almost done and still had three laps left.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 As in it's a good thing?Possibly the best thing.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Holy moly, Gladden will not shut up about putting the ball on the ground. It's not like everyone in baseball is saying the opposite.....
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 Yeah, my track coach just would not listen when I would tell him that the 400 was not a sprint and you had to pace yourself. I didn't like events that took me more than 15 seconds to complete. My track coach wouldn't listen to me either. I told him the 400 was a relay.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Possibly the best thing. Danny you're mother and I are not mad, we're just very disappointed.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Odds we see Tonkin today?Only if the Twins add a few more insurance runs.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Odds we see Tonkin today? They vary, but get much higher the closer you happen to be to the Twins bullpen.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 Holy moly, Gladden will not shut up about putting the ball on the ground. What I love about Gladden is when Corey throws him a question, and Danny provides a 10 second answer...totally unrelated to the question.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 What I love about Gladden is when Corey throws him a question, and Danny provides a 10 second answer...totally unrelated to the question. So you basically love everything Gladden says.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Haley looks...unspectacular Really? One IP with one single but 3 k's feels like an acceptable result for a middle reliever.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 So you basically love everything Gladden says. Chief just might be Danny's grandpa.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Chief just might be Danny's great-great-great grandpa.FTFY
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 Chief just might be Danny's grandpa.Watch it, pal. That palimony suit was settled out of court, and there's a gag order in place.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 My track coach wouldn't listen to me either. I told him the 400 was a relay. I didn't know they ran track in the 1500s.
big dog Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Haley just gave a single to Iglesias but it was a seeing-eye bouncer in between third and short.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 So the Tigers took Cabrera and Upton out, when both are due up in the bottom of this inning. Given that they're both struggling, wouldn't you think another AB might be a good idea if you're the Tigers?
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Watch it, pal. That palimony suit was settled out of court, and there's a gag order in place. Gag order? I hardly know 'er! Very sorry for that. Just trying to join the joke parade.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Watch it, pal. That palimony suit was settled out of court, and there's a gag order in place. As I understand it, gag orders apply only to the parties involved in the suit, not irresponsible and scurrilous posters on Twins Daily. But I'm no lawyer.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 I didn't know they ran track in the 1500s.Hey...that was my time in the 400 relay!
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I didn't know they ran track in the 1500s.It's not like they could ride a train to the Crusades.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I didn't know they ran track in the 1500s. Not track per se, but more outrunning the plague victims shuffling towards your hamlet.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Not track per se, but more outrunning the plague victims shuffling towards your hamlet.I wonder if he also raced Phillippides, but "Phil" won so he's the famous one.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 they teach you these in sales training? A good dad joke isn't the worst way to break the ice!
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 Here in Tucson we get a lot of news from south of the border. There was an interesting story today about a crazy Mexican train thief. They caught him, but couldn't convict him of the crime. They weren't able to find his locomotives.

It's getting to be pool season, Chief.... You ever get people knocking on your door asking for a small donation towards the local swimming pool? That happened to me yesterday. I gave him a glass of water and shut the door.
