USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 On short notice, Five things: 1. Two cows are standing next to each other in a field. Daisy says to Dolly, "I was artificially inseminated this morning." "I don't believe you," says Dolly. "It's true, no bull!" exclaims Daisy. 2. An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids were nothing to look at either. 3. I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn’t find any. 4. Two fish swim into a concrete wall. The one turns to the other and says Dam!" 5. The Twins are carrying 13 pitchers. That's it. Someone please post the lineups. Thanks!!

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Game isn't televised anywhere, right?
Respy Provisional Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Sounds like Gimenez is starting because they are pairing him up with Hughes on the mound. Didn't know that any of our pitchers deserved to have a personal catcher?

Didn't know that any of our pitchers deserved to have a personal catcher? If there is a catcher that can get better out of Hughes than another, I want that one there. Whether it's to the comfort or performance of the pitcher, that's what it will be. It's not about deserving ... it's about what will get the best result.

Didn't know that any of our pitchers deserved to have a personal catcher?I like pairing the backup catcher with one pitcher when the backup is only going to catch 1/4 of the games rather than a true platoon. Giminez and Hughes can build a chemistry and Castro knows when he's going to have a day off. None of that has anything to do with deserving or earning a personal catcher, and I don't think that's why Molitor would decide on that pairing either.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Well, the Twins broadcast schedule says they're not on TV. Well ****. http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/schedule/broadcast/index.jsp?c_id=min

Except that it removes the ability to platoon based on hitting match-ups. For his career, Castro OPS's .547 against lefties with a .247 wOBA and 53 wRC+. Against righties, he's .755, .330, and 109. In plain english, he's a AA player against lefties, and an above-average MLBer against righties.

Well ****. http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/schedule/broadcast/index.jsp?c_id=min That in itself is sad, that there's even a possibility that a regional all-sports network would rather show something else on a Thursday afternoon than a live Twins game.
KidBro Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 So far so good, Gamecast and the Twins are off to a good start..... unless Dozier didn't really single, then neither are off to a good start.

How sad

No, it's a 1986 film ranked as the #83 movie of all time by AFI, and winner of 4 Academy Awards. Incidentally, the picture for the movie poster is of Twins fans watching Gibson's outing yesterday. http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/platoon_1986_6592.jpg
