hypothetical...Detroit puts Cabrera on waivers.  He's owed $184M over the 6 seasons following 2017, with two more $30M vesting options (based on MVP voting).

 

Do the Twins put in a claim?

I think the Twins should buy low.

If the Twins got Cabrera, they'd have nowhere obvious for him to play, so he'd have to go to Rochester to prove that he can still hit.

Someone needs to hand Sano a book on Newton's three laws.

1.  Never, under any circumstances, let yourself be talked into taking a physics class.

 

2.  In the impossibility that you did not follow the first of Newton's laws, make friends with the Asian kid.

 

3.  Don't slide late.

why is Sano out? did he try to steal? Lead off too much? Inquiring minds want to know.

I'm watching the Detroit broadcast.  Comedy of baserunning mistakes.

 

Sano had a lead, ball in the dirt.  Sano starts back to first, then notices the ball is rolling away behind the catcher.  Basically takes two steps in place, then runs to second.

 

Gets to second slightly ahead of a high throw slides under it.  Big sweep tag that ends up with the fielder holding the glove over his head, apparently yelling "Ole".

 

Sano overslides the bag by, oh, a couple of feet, then tries to slide backwards.  Fielder tries to tag him, then apparently hits is foot just before the foot finally makes contact again with the bag.

 

Not a pretty play.

Buxton is pulling his head. A lot. On every swing. And on non-swings he's not watching the ball either. He needs to sit until he can re-learn the "keep your eye on the ball" rule we all learn in Little League.
