Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Here's my math contribution for the day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhdhH3cVhUE
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 You do realize the analytics crowd is about to disown you, right? That's okay, I was never invited to the group... My taeks are too hot to analyze!
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 What are the odds Joe hits into a double play out of the four hole today? Infinitely greater than the odds he hits into a double play out of the three hole.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Polanco doesn't play on any day ending in "y?"he doesn't have a nickname ending in "y"?
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I thought my math career ended years ago with linear algebra ... thanks a lot for those who continue to bring math to the thread ... I knew a few people who changed their majors in large part to linear algebra. It caused a lot of anguish and grief.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 he doesn't have a nickname ending in "y"?Polancky? Jorgy?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Polancky? Jorgy? Escobar calls him George of the Jungle.

Blake Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 I knew a few people who changed their majors in large part to linear algebra. It caused a lot of anguish and grief.could be worse, could be parabolic algebra. Or, hyperbolic algebra.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Being as this is a math thread, show your work! Ok.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'll try to post my vantage point but I don't know how to attach a photo. So if no photo shows up I'm in section 103
Blake Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 I thought my math career ended years ago with linear algebra ... thanks a lot for those who continue to bring math to the thread ... You're very welcome.* *note:even though probably sarcastic, okay, it's chitown, most likely sarcastic, I will take it at face value.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm liking Escobar starting at SS today because I'm a firm believer in letting everybody on the roster compete for a job. I know this won't be popular but if Santana is going to make the roster... play him. If given the opportunity and they fail... then you move on and when you move on... they can't say they weren't given a chance. Players sitting 1 game a week so others can be mixed hurts nobody. It probably won't hurt the team in the short term but if it does it will help the team in the long run. I don't want a repeat of last year with Molitor going back to the same struggling players and letting Polonco, Kepler and Arcia watch it happen from the bench. If they made the roster... give them some playing time. So I'm happy with Escobar playing and I hope to see Santana and Gimenez tomorrow. Jeez... that's the most baseball I've ever typed in a game thread. I might be coming down with something
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Great set up, Blake! I had zero problems with it!

Blake Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 Wow, Castro double clutched and still threw out the runner.
James Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Ahh. The old strike 'em out, throw 'em out, huh?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Wow, Castro double clutched and still threw out the runner. I am a fan of the Castro signing thus far.
hybridbear Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 What a terrible play by the Royals to end up with a strike-em-out, throw-em-out! I couldn't believe Gordon was out when watching Castro double clutch the throw as Moustakas almost blocked the plate. I was shocked when the camera showed the tag.
MNTSchmitt Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Strike Em Out- Throw Em Out! I've been a big fan of the Castro pick up.
MNTSchmitt Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Nice to see Escobar out there. I got to chat with him at Spring Training, got a ball signed by him.
hybridbear Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm not a fan of Santiago's command so far today.
MNTSchmitt Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm not a fan of Santiago's command so far today.Yeah-he has been a little all over to start. Lot of pitches for the first inning.
woolywoolhouse Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm a fan that our IT team set up a VPN at work, so I'm able to watch MLB.tv today!
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Castro's throw to second is nice to see.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I do love "watching" on GameDay. The first four pitches to Moose were all shown as in the strike zone and one pitch was listed as a changeup and one a "sinker". Changeups and sinkers at the top of the zone usually aren't a good thing.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Hosmer had no shot against Santiago's junk
MNTSchmitt Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm a fan that our IT team set up a VPN at work, so I'm able to watch MLB.tv today! My work doesn't have any restriction settings on, but my internet here is slow, so it's a little choppy. I could watch it on my phone and it be fine, but that eat up all my data.
James Verified Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm a fan that our IT team set up a VPN at work, so I'm able to watch MLB.tv today! And here I am pretending to work and listening to the radio like a sucker! I need a better IT department.
