Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I've got nothing and no one volunteered (shame on y'all) ... but I don't think that matters much because you guys are good at taking any game thread and running with it anyway. Just wish someone would run with it from the beginning. There are still a few games left to claim. Just sayin'. But for today ... ready ... set ... GO! Lineups: TWINSBrian Dozier® 2BJorge Polanco(S) SSJoe Mauer(L) DHKennys Vargas(S) 1BMax Kepler(L) RFEduardo Escobar(S) 3BEddie Rosario(L) LFJuan Centeno(L) CByron Buxton® CF Hector Santiago(L) P TIGERSIan Kinsler® 2BJose Iglesias® SSMiguel Cabrera® 1BVictor Martinez(S) DHJ.D. Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 A noon game on a Thursday? Weird... can't imagine you draw many people for this game. This could be our last chance at crushing Pelfrey. Let's hope the Twins run up the score on him. (they'll need to run up the score anyways because Santiago is pitching.)
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 No Grossman or Schafer?!!!! http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/gallery/wtf/when_someone_is_way_off.gif
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2016 Author Posted September 15, 2016 Yeah, I actually don't mind this lineup ... but we'll see.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 This lineup makes me happy.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I'll be listening to Dan and Corey today. I'm so sick of hearing Bert anyway, so a good change.
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Is Bert or Bremer worse, cause they are both very bad. I think Bremer is worse though. I also prefer Bert to Morris.
wavedog Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 With Pelfrey pitching, I can imagine everyone was volunteering to play today.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Don't sell yourself short. That joke about Pelfrey near the end was a good one.
gocgo Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I'm actually one of the few people who like Bert and Bremer. Yeah, I'm comparing them to Hawk and Stone Pony, so that might skew my opinion a bit...a lot...a ton. It's gotta be tough to do their job of sprinkling sugar and rose petals on a season that has wreaked of raw sewage from the get go and then getting the viewer to eat what they are serving up. If they told it like it is, they wouldn't have jobs and if I were in their shoes, I would have been ushered out the door a long time ago...possibly for cursing repeatedly on air.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Let's hope Big Pelf still has some of that magic left. Final score, 9-5 Twins. Go Twins!
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 "Weather: Upper 60s (brrr!)" Holy cow. You were born in Minnesota and live in Chicago. Have some self respect ferpetesakes.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Vargas double and Kepler single, 1-0 Twins. Two-base throwing error on Pelfrey, though it looked like Cabrera really should have caught or at least blocked that ball.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 this pitching matchup is remindful of a coed softball league where both teams pitch to their own hitters.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Yup, Big Pelf's got the mojo working. 2-0 Twins, two on, no outs.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 And Molitor just did a sacrifice, after four consecutive base hits. I really, truly, just don't get this guy.
70charger Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Man, I just stepped away for a little bit for some work (pfft), and I come back and they're up 4 and have already chased Pelfrey? Damn, I think I missed the good part of the game.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Dozier single, 4-0 Twins. Great job of just putting the bat on the ball and not trying to kill it. Wait, Pelfrey's gone??? How can you do that to us, Ausmus? We were just getting comfortable!!! Aus-Mus Sucks! Aus-Mus Sucks! Aus-Mus Sucks!!!!!
Jerr Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Some of us actually work and to be honest re:Twins....this year I don't care and I know it's sad as I have been a fan since 1961....Back to work here not listening to the game ,but wI'll check this thread tonight as it is always enjoyable!GO TWINS!!!!!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 How does Ausmus not walk Dozier? Glad for Doze to get a couple more RBI, but that is managerial malpractice.
70charger Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I'm listening to audio on mlb.tv, and they're literally playing one commercial on loop. What the hell? Is that how it usually is on audio?
70charger Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Vargas double and Kepler single, 1-0 Twins. Two-base throwing error on Pelfrey, though it looked like Cabrera really should have caught or at least blocked that ball. Apparently they switched it to an error on Cabrera. All the runs are earned anyway.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 How does Ausmus not walk Dozier? Glad for Doze to get a couple more RBI, but that is managerial malpractice. It was payback for Mollie giving Ausmus a free out with that stupid sacrifice bunt in the second inning. What goes around comes around, I guess. Hey, whoever had Santiago in the "Best Starter" betting pool can come forward and collect their payouts.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I thought the Centeno bunt was ok, the Rosario one was.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Santiago is pretty solid through four innings. Another double play! Why don't we sacrifice more??
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Why don't we sacrifice more?? unpossible.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 can't help wondering if patrick hurt joey's feelings.
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Santiago getting squeezed pretty good the last two innings.
Rosterman Verified Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Wow! No Schafer or Grossman. No Zuzuki at DH. The Return of Mauer. Where in the H is Miguel Sano. Y'know, Santiago is pitching like someone who wants a contract next season. Did I just see Molitor try to be a manager and call for a sacrifice? But really, then..........
Marek Houston Wichita Wind Surge - AA SS On Saturday, Houston went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. After a short slump, he is now back over .290 on the season. Explore Marek Houston News >
