jimmer Verified Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Better Call Saul is the best show on television. And the fact it's a prequel makes that even more amazing.Better than Fargo? Better than GOT? Hmmmm
jimmer Verified Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime is coming out August 31
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Better than Fargo? Better than GOT? Hmmmm GOT is more entertaining and Fargo's first two seasons were amazing...but damned if Better Call Saul doesn't keep getting better.

TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 The Expanse objects to your brazen statement presented as fact. Heh, well the only fact I was conveying in that post was that Saul is a prequel. But it is also objectively the best show going. (I really need to start The Expanse) If anyone dug Breaking Bad and feared this wouldn't hold up, they should reconsider.

It's sooooooo good. And I hate you, because I've been losing at least an hour of sleep the last few nights. "Just one more episode, it'll be fine..."
biggentleben Verified Member Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 The ending to Sharp Objects - holy hell. I've not enjoyed the end of a television series season more in a long time! Make sure you watch the credits, though!!
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 The new Series on Amazon Prime, Jack Ryan, was pretty good.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Taking a break from current shows and re-watching Eureka from the beginning.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 I hear the prisoner is on Amazon.... Need to watch the whole thing
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Iron Fist season 2 is as good as season 1 was bad.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Anyone watch altered carbon? I liked it. Pretty good plot, kept me interested, some twists, decent character development. I like attempts like this to depict a future world.
biggentleben Verified Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Iron Fist season 2 is as good as season 1 was bad. The first season tried way too hard to incorporate too many things into one season - the back story, the reunification with family, the love story, etc... The second season had really one distinct focus, and it was much better because of that, in my opinion.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 The Doctor. Coming Oct. 7th. Can’t wait. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/09/new-doctor-who-trailer-shows-first-female-doctor-is-still-the-boss/
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 Anyone watch any of the new network shows? I don't think we've even turned on network tv, other than golf this fall....

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 I just don’t watch a lot of TV. But I may use In Demand to check out the pilots of every new show ... just to do it. I am curious to see how Murphy Brown has ages. I liked the original.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 I really enjoyed the Netflix show Maniac. It's weird, but really stylish and moving.

It's worth rewatching a few if for no other reason than to remember how far it pushed the envelope of social issues in its day. Beyond that, since you liked then you'll probably still enjoy it now. Good writing is good writing, and holds up considerably better than hair styles.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 omg ... they are doing a re-boot of Buffy! Hope it's just as good as the original! If it is, that will definitely be something to watch.
jimmer Verified Member Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 There's also a new Sabrina coming out on Netflix.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 I'm looking forward to Good Omens next year.....best cast ever. And Gaiman is the writer/runner, so any changes should still be good.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Am I the only one who doesn’t get the love for The Good Place? It’s a show I want to love but the character chemistry is so inferior and awkward to Parks & Rec that I struggle to care much about it. It's a fine show but I don't get why people are raving about it.

It's a fine show but I don't get why people are raving about it. I just finished the second season on Netflix. I thought it had some funny moments at first, and then once I got into it I thought it was pretty funny and original, but then the concept started to wear thin and I am luke-warm about whether to try and watch season 3. It is a show seems to be a bit too focused on "look how clever and out there we are". There are also "character growth" moments that don't really seem earned or true to the characters. This is a good example of a show that should have just had a limited ten to 15 episode run. I do think the cast is talented and have had some funny moments, but now their actions have gotten a bit repetitive.

I really enjoyed the show at first, but then it started to become the same problem/resolution week after week.
