gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Anyone try Chernobyl or The Hot Zone? I'm enjoying both.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Not sure if this belongs here, it being Amazon Prime, but I saw episodes 1 and 2 of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel on my flight the other day, and I recommend it highly. Rachel Brosnahan does a, well, marvelous job. The supporting cast is fun too.My wife wanted to watch this, and I'm so glad we did. Just finished seasons 1 and 2, it's masterful. It's delightful, and funny and I love the masterful job they did making it feel like the late 50's. Although I wasn't alive then, so I guess I wouldn't know how authentic it is in that regard. Brosnahan is incredible. I think I'm legitimately in love with her character, if that's possible. Tony Shaloub is perfectly cast, and steals many scenes. Alex Borstein is awesome in this. I highly recommend this to everyone. At first glance it may not look like your type of show. That was my mistake the many times I scrolled past it.The first few episodes, while good, everyone seems to be getting a feel for their characters. But, as Mrs. Maisel gains confidence in the show, so too do the actors and writers, and by the end of season 2 it's television at it's finest. I honestly can't believe how much I love this show, I find myself daydreaming about the characters throughout the day, which is the hallmark of truly great art. Go see it.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Episode one of Good Omens was good. I am attempting what I call slow binge watching..... Trying to watch one episode a week.

I love the casting of Sheen and Tenant and they're good together, but for some reason the show just feels flat to me whenever they're off-screen.

D. Hocking Verified Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Anyone try Chernobyl or The Hot Zone? I'm enjoying both. Someone at work watched Chernobyl and gave it a thumbs up. My sister was in Hungary when it happened, and it was completely suppressed from news. She did not hear about it until she left the iron curtain. Dead to Me was renewed for a second season.

biggentleben Verified Member Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 Has anyone else watched the final season of Jessica Jones? I really enjoyed the season overall, perhaps one of the best done without a tremendous villain to base the story around in any of the Netflix Marvel series, IMO.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Yep, Letterkenny is outstanding. I watched one episode and thought it kind of sucked. Then a couple more and I now think it’s the best thing ever. It’s like...Live action, Canadian King if the Hill with no filter and shades of Napoleon Dynamite.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2019 Author Posted July 5, 2019 Stranger Things season 3 gets off to a slooooow start IMO. Hoping it gets better after the first 2 episodes.

PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted July 7, 2019 Posted July 7, 2019 I just finished Season 3 of Stranger Things, and the last episode hit me, hard.
biggentleben Verified Member Posted July 7, 2019 Posted July 7, 2019 I just finished Season 3 of Stranger Things, and the last episode hit me, hard. Same. Not sure where they go from here, but very well orchestrated season.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 I just finished Season 3 of Stranger Things, and the last episode hit me, hard.Yes, it did. The cut scene kind of ruined my emotional response though, and seemed to cheapen things. Great season, though it is turning into more horror it seems. I don't get why two college students had to say goodbye....

No. I'm worse than Ron Weasley when it comes to spiders.

Monsters are a key feature in Witcher lore (he's basically a mercenary for monsters), but I don't know how gross the show will be. The video games weren't scary, and only occasionally gross.

She was probably just going to give him directions out of the swamp.
