Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 September is a great time of year. Baseball's in the hunt for October, football is back, and new fall TV shows. There's the tried and true TV shows like Modern Family that I've watched for years... Gotham season 3, where they hopefully don't fly off the rails again... The Blacklist... Along with new shows such as "Designated Survivor" with Kiefer Sutherland, "The Good Place" starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson, or "High Maintenance" on HBO. What's on your radar for Fall TV shows? glunn 1
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Returning for a 2nd year is 'Life in Pieces' starring Dianne Wiest and James Brolin. The first season was quite funny. Looking forward to the new season. Vanimal46 1
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I don't know how they're going to top Naked and Afraid Africa, but I can't wait to find out. Pardon My Dinger, Vanimal46 and glunn 3
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Agents of SHIELD, Walking Dead, The Flash; I'll see if the new MacGyver is any good. Lotsa Netflix; headed up by Luke Cage. Curious about Star Trek: Discovery but that's not until January and I'm not sure if I'll pay CBS extra money to watch it. Doctor Who series 10 isn't until April, I think. Vanimal46 and glunn 2
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) 'The Crown' and 'Luke Cage', both from Netflix. Then I eagerly await Season 3 of Fargo next spring :-) Goliath looks like it has potential. Edited September 13, 2016 by jimmer Vanimal46 and TheLeviathan 2

I'll patiently wait for greatness, though. TheLeviathan and jimmer 2

jimmer Verified Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) I have not. Adding those to the list as well. I'd suggest watching them in order. Daredevil Season One, Jessica Jones, Daredevil Season 2. These are extremely well done shows, not just well done superhero shows. Edited September 13, 2016 by jimmer Vanimal46 and TheLeviathan 2
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Author Posted September 13, 2016 Last Man on Earth comes back on the 25th. We tried watching that show and stopped after 2 episodes. It must have gotten better for it to start a 3rd season.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I have not. Adding those to the list as well. We had a thread here on Jessica Jones. I remember Daredevil also being talked about ... maybe on that thread as well?http://twinsdaily.com/topic/20804-marvels-jessica-jones/ Vanimal46 1
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Jessica Jones is the logical prerequisite for Luke Cage, as he's introduced in that series.
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Dirk Gently looks good too.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Dirk Gently looks good too.The books were certainly good.

Nah, I don't think very many people like it. I'm pleasantly surprised that it's been given a 3rd season.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Luke Cage and Westworld top my list. And if you're not watching The Get Down right now, you're missing out. TheLeviathan 1
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Author Posted September 13, 2016 And if you're not watching The Get Down right now, you're missing out.Better than Vinyl on HBO?
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Luke Cage and Westworld are atop my list. Eagerly awaiting Legion, Fargo, Game of Thrones, and American Gods coming out later. Gotham went so far off the rails I gave up last season. I wanted, so badly, to like that show. Walking Dead won't get my audience until some Sunday afternoon replay. That show needs to figure out it's bad trolling crap before I'll tune in again in their primetime slot. PseudoSABR 1

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Better than Vinyl on HBO? I skipped Vinyl entirely. Given that it was cancelled, so did everyone else.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Author Posted September 13, 2016 The bar can be set higher than that, can't it? :-) I would hope so! Vinyl went down hill real quick. The Get Down looked like another version of it, so I've ignored it so far.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 You people watch too much television.I watch a fair amount of television but mostly I keep my viewing to short seasons that I can watch in a week or so. It's why I seem to watch so many different shows but my actual time spent "watching" television is moderate. (not including the mindless TV I have playing in the background while working/drawing but that barely qualifies as "watching") There are maybe (2?) long-season shows I watch (20+ episodes per season). Most of the stuff I watch is 13 episodes or fewer (Marvel Netflix, You're the Worst, HBO stuff, etc). By the way, You're the Worst is so fuggin' good. TheLeviathan and Vanimal46 2
