why would anyone watch the OJ stuff? I suppose people will watch the Joan Benoit stuff too.....I don't get it.

It was super good, actually. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes super good stuff. 

 

It's not just some courtroom drama, and it's not just a show about OJ Simpson. Matter of fact, his character isn't even very prominent. When you get down to it, it's about race relations in early 90's LA. If that's not interesting or crazy relevant, then I don't know what is.

Yeah, one or more of these shows won't last 6 episodes. 

As much as I like Danson and Bell, that show doesn't look great. Hope to be wrong on that. 

My front-runner for pulling the plug early is Kevin Can Wait.... I don't believe we are clamoring for another King of Queens type sitcom.

The good place seems like a pretty hopeless concept, but don't sleep on Ted Danson. For my money, he may be the best tv actor there ever was.

At least with the Jon Benet stuff they are suggesting they are going to name a suspect using new technology.  I could see that being interesting.

 

OJ?  Been there, done that.  It was all over TV.  Most people I talked to said it peaked in the first episode and went steadily down hill.

"Gotham" season 3 premiere on Fox.

"The Good Place" starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson - Pilot airs on NBC. 

 

"Kevin Can Wait" starring Kevin James - pilot airs on CBS. The commercials look pretty bad. 

"The Big Bang Theory" - much like "Everybody Loves Raymond" I can't believe this show is still on, and supposedly successful. 

 

I'll check out the Kristen Bell series. I laughed at the previews ... but ... that could get old quick. The others? Meh.

Poor Gotham, so much potential absolutely destroyed by poor writing and planning.  I think television has gotten so good that I'm starting to really notice the difference in writing quality.  There was a long time where I went more by the genres that entertained me, but now I seek out anything and everything so long as I can sense good writing chops at work.

I'm not a fan of Kevin James. But I like both Kristen Bell and Ted Danson,M that's why I'll probably check it out. But later. I'm off to imbibe some margaritas on Monday.

Watched the pilot of "The Good Place" last night. It's actually good so far! I may be biased because I'm a fan of Bell and Danson... But I have hopes that this show can last. The creator of this show also worked on "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation", 2 of my favorite comedies on TV.

You got the last name right. The first name is Joaquin though.

 

But I think you've confused this with that other baseball show, because the previews I've seen were about a slim young female pitcher, not a chubby reliever closing in on 40.

That's been getting high praise. I don't even know what the premise is, it just looks like a mushy drama.

The King of Queens is probably my favorite show of all time. I still watch reruns pretty often. And I thought the first episode of Kevin Can Wait was pretty good.

I was so-so on Lethal Weapon. I'll watch 'The Good Place' a bit just to see where it goes but I'm really not sure about it. It was ... different ... I'll give it that. Watched 'This is Us' which has gotten good reviews but for the life of me I can't figure out what it's about. I think the first episode was just introducing characters and giving a glimpse at where they are in their lives, but have no clue how these characters intersect and what this show is about.

Well, I'm pretty much in the 'no interest' category with 'This is Us' after that first episode, but reviews eluded to some 'bigger purpose' of these characters ... just don't know what and therefore have no clue what the show is even about other than melodrama.

I used to be hip like that too. That got old after a few months and I moved on.
