Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 No Lindor? If I could do Sano for Lindor straight up, I probably say no, but I think about it a lot longer than the Indians do I'd wager. Don't get me wrong... Not being in my top 5 isn't a slap at Lindor. It's a testiment to the strength of this years crop. The 5 guys I list are terrifically talented and I just got them ahead of Lindor. I hate using the Regression word because all of these fine players could regress but If I had to bet on who will have the best careers going forward... That's my 5.
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 I know you risk getting swept if you over manage for the sweep, but in our situation I'd over manage for the sweep. Hunter and Suzuki would be on the bench and no dependable pitcher would pitch (Boyers performance ignored).
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 No one should have to endure that kind of torture... Just heard it for time #4. Why, in a game that has been played on radio for well over 70 years, are there not more options to choose from?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Double play, just like they drew it up.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Plouffe does us proud.
Whammy Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Item 1) why didn't Buxton go ONCE in the entire Mauer AB? Even with 2 strike? It smells of some unwritten "6-runs ahead in the 7th inning" rule. Bologna! This is no time to care about some other manager getting bent out of shape about running up the score. 2) how in the world did the guy on 1st only get to 2b on that Indian RBI single to right? Is that V-Mart in an Indins uniform? Just finished writing this and the Twins got out of the inning to make point #1 a little less meaningful, but the point still stands.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 So if Santana's release point is better when he stands on the 1st base side of the slab, wouldn't Cotts do better from the 3rd base side? No matter now. Nice DP ball.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 September baseball in Cleveland is great. You can hear everything so clearly. "What time's the game?" "When can you be here?" "Oh, 4.... 4:10 maybe." "4:10 it is. It's a double header too - we'll keep the concession stand open for both games."
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 I had more work to get done but I couldn't take it knowing the double header had started so I went home and my butt is parked.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 1. Correa2. Bryant3. Sano4. Pederson5. Buxton and that's not considering Pitching... There are some great young arms that would mix things up a bit. That's a great point on pitching. It made the debate pretty fun because there's so many elite rookies that made their debuts this year.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Been listening to the Fan commentary since I turned the game on. Things Clearly Heard from those in Attendance at Jacobs Field This Afternoon: 1. Hey... Let's go sit in the front row 2. Hey... If you spell Ohio backwards it's Oiho. That's damn close to one of those Palominos. 3. I think I just ate a fly. 4. Who are those guys up in the TV Booth. Isn't this game big enough for Matt Vasgergian or Heidi Watney to do? 5. I've been talking about moving to Vermont for awhile. I don't know why I haven't yet. The Smell is getting worse and worse.

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Ok, I don't trust Boyer and Fien, but it's clear they are #2 and #3 on Molitor's list of favorite guys in the pen. Why are they pitching in a game with a healthy lead? Can't he imagine a scenario where he'll have to rely on his pen in game two?
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 This Buxton kid may have a future.
Monkeypaws Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Man Buxton just looks loose and relaxed up there now. I tuned to see his single, now the dinger. I think we are starting to see the player this young lad will be.
