Is this umpire's zone as bad as the ESPN gamecast makes it look?  I've seen about 6 called strikes well outside the zone.

 

Other than the missed strike with Gibson earlier, I think he's fine.  Carrasco is hitting those corners pretty nicely.  He's also leaving a lot of balls in the zone and we're KILLING him now.

Normally, yes. But with expanded rosters it doesn't "hurt" them as much. Still nice though.

Here's an interesting question--does Torii Hunter make the Hall of Fame?

 

The Pro's--350+ homers, 5 time All-Star, 9 consecutive gold gloves, almost 1300 runs and 1400 RBI's

 

The Con's--only a .277 hitter, career OPS below .800, negative career value in both defense and baserunning.

True but either they use triple A pitchers the rest of this game and we can get guys like Hunter a couple innings off in the field or they waste some of the bullets for the 2nd game.

OK, get another run and then start Project Preserve the Pen.  Unless Cleveland gets within two, only Gibson or the garbage-time pitchers the rest of the game.

 

Probably should of gone with the sacrifice bunt with runners on 1st and 2nd and nobody out.

Just got here, and this year has been a lot of fun!!!!

As to Hunter and Hall of Fame, a 2015 World Series ring would help!

So they are saying there is a 30% chance of a hurricane hitting us here in NYC again. Not especially welcome news now that the building we live in currently is literally built on a pier going into the east river.

He won't even come close. I would be shocked if he gets 20%

 

Great career no doubt. Twins hall of famer no doubt, Twins retired number (prob no doubt). Hall of fame? No chance.

Not sure how you call yourself a major league umpire and have that ball go right under your mask (which should be on the inside edge of the plate) and not call that a strike.  Us high school umpires ring that stuff up all the time!!

 

And when the pitchers were el stinko, I added 4 inches on both sides of the plate and told the batters to come up swinging. Coaches liked that.
