Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Can the Twins help keep Detroit out of first place and the playoffs? As Twins fans, do we even care who makes the playoffs? Tonight, the Twins have Tommy "Hey, at least I'm back in MLB" Milone going against some guy named Robbie Ray. The Good: Milone is probably going to pitch better at some point. Probably. The Bad: Not really seeing any bad here. *looks at lineup* Oh, hey, look. Jordan Schafer is in the lineup again. There you go. The Ugly: Oswaldo Arcia's haircut. (in truth, I think it's pretty awesome in a horrible "omg look at this dude's baseball card in 20 years sort of way") Detroit:Ian Kinsler - 2BTorii Hunter - RFMiguel Cabrera - 1BVictor Martinez - DHJ.D. Martinez - LFNick Castellanos - 3BEugenio Suarez - SSBryan Holaday - CRajai Davis - CF Minnesota:Danny Santana - CFBrian Dozier - 2BJoe Mauer - 1BKennys Vargas - DHOswaldo Arcia - RFTrevor Plouffe - 3BKurt Suzuki - CEduardo Escobar - SSJordan Schafer - LF
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I'm sorry I have to say this again, but why is Jordan Schafer an everyday starter? There's little chance he will be playing for us in 2015 and I'd rather see Chris Parmelee or heck, even Wilkin Ramirez. Schafer should be a bench bat, but in the last 12 Twins games, Schafer has stared 10 of them. This shouldn't be happening.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 I get Schafer being a starter in CF if you want to see Santana at short. Other than that... *shrugs*
big dog Verified Member Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 To answer your first question, I don't care too much about who gets in the playoffs. I will probably pay a little attention but won't have much invested. I need to hunker down, take a break after this looong season ends, reconnect with my family, and heal up from some in-season aches and pains. Then about January I'll start doing some real training, get in the cage, try and get ready for spring training. I may even start working with a nutritionist, try and make sure I can keep my energy up during next year's sure-to-be-successful season.

I like the speed on the basepathes, his defense is better than Parmalee's and Parmalee isn't exactly hitting the cover off the ball lately....

teekz Verified Member Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 At this point, I think they throw Schafer out there everyday to see if he can be a decent player next year. Just an extended audition. What else do we have right now?
MileHighTwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 The guy is basically filling Fuld's spot in the order. My sense was that the spot was Rosario's if he stepped up to claim it, but he hasn't, so Schaefer it is.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Remind me. Are we allowed to hit home runs in the first inning? Things didn't turn out so good last time we tried that.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 JB... are you coming to the pub crawl? Sorry, I have a good time, though! Got stuff I have to be around here for.

So that's the view from the conic section of target field? Interesting... I think i can even make out the asymptotes...
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Can we say whatever we want with the mod squad at the game?
