ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Another observation: If Ausmus had his infield play at regular depth there would have been a double-play (presumably), and then a ground out (Mauer); one run in. By playing the infield "in," over and over again, it has snowballed into a big wad of crap. (yeah Twins, though)
big dog Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 The Tigers still have 3 relievers yet, but I think this guy might be in for a long night at this point. GO TWINS!!!!!
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 That escalated in a hurry. Vargas killed a guy with a trident.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Ugh. The Twins are preparing to blow another 5 run lead...Can I make you eat those words?
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Wouldn't help much if I was pitching.I haven't worked out all the kinks, but wouldn't it be a start? See you at the Winter Meetings to discuss ...
big dog Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 And here comes Al Alburquerque. Maybe we'll get Nathan in the 8th. That would be fun. If we can get to a starter early in Game 1 tomorrow.....yowsah. We've batted around and a half!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Five run lead...restored.And then some. I blame the moderators for being at the game.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 That escalated in a hurry. Vargas killed a guy with a trident.Insert image: trident for bat in Vargas's paw.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Well, in order to blow a 5 run lead, you have to have a five run lead, so they could technically be preparing to blow another 5 run lead by scoring those runs...
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Will we see Torii pitching the eighth for the Kitties?
big dog Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Hey Chi-town, have the moderators started talking about leaving early with the game in hand? Worse yet, are they talking about WAR?
big dog Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I can't believe it's 10:19 and we are in the sixth inning. And we're actually the ones winning? Weird.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I sincerely doubt whether the late innings will be meaningful.Don't see many double plays like that one!See, I knew what I was talking about! Actually, I thought Detroit might pull away, but this is way better.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 See, I knew what I was talking about! Actually, I thought Detroit might pull away, but this is way better. The Twins just can't play a competitive game to save their lives.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I'm glad to say that my previous statement is very wrong. Let's destroy the Tigers bullpen!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Bremer is right about one thing. In a game with a lot of runs, bad pitching and sloppy fielding, the biggest play might have been the double play in the sixth.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Heh, Drew Smyly with a CGSO today
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 "Let's destroy the Tigers' bullpen!" It would have been fun to see the Twins destroy the Tigers' bullpen, but looks to me as though the Tigers' front office beat them to it...
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Stepping on third must have thrown Trevor off.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Thanks to HD, it's possible to just make out the family of screech owls living in Joba Chamberlain's beard as they begin to stir and prepare for the night's hunt...
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Assuming that the Twins win, which pitcher gets credit for the win?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 He should have kept running.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Give Escobar another chance!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Goodness, Detroit has looked terrible in the field. Bad pitching does that, but so many bad plays!
big dog Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I'm just kind of sitting here in shock. Sixteen runs??? That's about four games worth. I hope we used up some of the ones we didn't get recently, instead of ones we would have gotten tomorrow.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Thanks to HD, it's possible to just make out the family of screech owls living in Joba Chamberlain's beard as they begin to stir and prepare for the night's hunt...His hat should be grease stained and say "Mack".
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 If I were Gardy, I wouldn't ask for a replay, just because it's almost 11 and they have two games tomorrow. Plus they are up by a dozen.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 And instead of printed across his back, 'Chamberlain' should be embroidered above his own special left shirt pocket.
