Hey, let's talk to Derek Shelton about his dad being at the game in the second row, and playing catch with him earlier in the day, and then pan a minute later to a random father and son in the stands.

fwiw - the Netflix broadcasters said Shelton told them that Luke will continue being in the outfield going forward.

The announcers were awful to listen to. "Longtime and beloved" ownership group Pohlads. Calling Luke Keaschall Brooks Keaschall. 

Also, can we please stop interviewing players while they're in the game? This wasn't an exhibition game.

Agree. Player interviews are usually boring as hell. Put them on before or after the game where they belong.

Which begs the question. HIs defense was inadequate at 2nd base in college (AZ) yet taken in round #2.... 49th overall.

Twins are a one dimensional team because that's how they draft.

Difficult catch all around, no doubt, but Hunter or  Lara would have made it look routine. Is it fair to compare players like this....probably not. But, why are the Twins drafting these type of players to being with?  Larnach, Wallner, Miranda, Rooker, etc, etc. All first or second rounders, all hit, no defense.

Sorry but Keaschall is a player without a position. He can't field the ball at 2nd and even if he can field the ball in the OF he can't throw the ball. When he makes a throw it looks like he is short arming the throw. His throws are more rainbow than line drive. His bat is fine,but defense is hard to watch. Can this team afford to have him in the lineup everyday. Because the team can only have one DH maybe he is the DH against LH pitching. It would give the team a better look at Roden for the next couple of weeks.

A patient, make him throw strikes, go with the pitch AB could have produced better results. It’s disappointing to see that he hasn’t matured a bit more to better grasp the mental part of the game. He’s been playing great in the field and hitting very good lately, so I’m hoping it’s one bad AB that he learns from and gets better.

Sometimes you have to give the pitcher credit, he actually has been laying off that outside much more frequently since his return.  But we are sitting on our recliners with no real idea of what it looked like coming in.   Nola was making many hitters look foolish last night.

Totally agree, but Lewis has lost at least 2.5 years of experience due to injuries.....only 1248 career at bats....roughly two full time seasons....so, he's still a young hitter to some degree.  Worst case scenario,  Twins give up on him and he becomes an All Star somewhere else.

Oh get real. The guy has been playing the outfield for something like two months.  A mid season switch.  Hunter and Lara have (had) years of experience in the outfield.  I bet Hunter and Lara  would look a bit green at 2nd base after playing 2 months also.  How do you think you would do at your job if your boss switched your position?  I bet you would make some mistakes too.

Early in the year I was worried Keaschall was going to turn into just a guy. It’s been a very long stretch now where his offense has made a very convincing argument to the contrary. He’s been way too valuable to give up on figuring out how and where he goes defensively. I don’t think anyone is questioning he’ll put in the work. Where that gets him defensively we’ll definitely learn in time, because the bat’s going nowhere…except higher in the order.

I’d love to see Jenkins up. But he…or anyone else…doesn’t make the club better by taking at-bats from Keaschall. Maybe that’s not what you’re insinuating. If/when, it will be at-bats from Roden, and probably a rotating mix of others.

His bat is usually quite good. High OBP. 

Hes a guy you definitely want in the lineup but man he needs to learn a defensive position that isn't going to constantly hurt us.

It is clear to see that Keashall is, at best, a left fielder/DH. CF/RF and for sure 2B are beyond his abilities.

Well you should apply for a scouting job...Sounds like you have it all figured out
