  1. A genuine shot at the World Series this year? Your kidding. The Twins are a couple of year away from that. They now have a genuine shot at a Wild Card. and they held onto all their top prospects, except Hill doing it.
  2. The White Sox and Guardians made some big moves. The Twins did not (at least yet, barring in last minute moves) mess with the big league team. The Tiger sand Royals pretty much threw in the towel.
  3. they gave up Dasan Hill and John Klein. and a minor league infeilder Toronto like MN native pitchers I guess. Two of their top 20 prospects. I like Hill, but he is having a down year
  4. Tyler Mahle look a like. Just what the Twins need another sore armed pitcher
  5. You got to be kidding with this trade....Are you trying for Tyler Mahle 2.0 on steroids?
  6. Funderburk was in the dugout tonight. I don't know if they have made a move yet. Funderburk has been looking good too. The whole pen has picked it up. LaTroy seems to have done a good job. So has the whole coaching staff.
  7. Agreed I am impressed so far. But he will probably get sent out when Minter joins the team
  8. Anderson has looked promising so far. I have read so many comments about how the Twins would be in 1st place if the Varland and Duran. That is impossible to predict and Gomez and Morris would not have been given their opportunities to step up. Both have become bullpen staples. Gomez probably would not even be on the team
  9. The Twins just put Buxton on the IL and recalled Gray. Why not recall Wallner and showcase him the rest of the week. Just to see if he could up his trade value. He is a guy who has the potential to bloom with a change of scenery
  10. The Yankees, Rays, White Sox and others are desperate for catching.. If the Twins want to trade him target those teams. Why would the Mariners want Jeffers? they have Cal Raleigh, I know he is having a down year, But they are a bad trade target if the Twins want to deal Jeffers.
  11. If I buy lottery tickets, I have a chance to win. But I am not going to sell the farm to buy tickets.
  12. An ace level starter for a bull pen arm? I sure am glad you are not the GM
  13. How is spending more money going to help? Making some smart baseball moves will. If that involves increasing the pay role so be it. But just throwing money around will do diddily.
  14. The time to make major trade deadline deals is when your team has a legitimate shot at a winning it all. Not when your team might sneak into the playoffs. At this point the Twins should look at their strengths and trade from them to fill weaknesses (catching for pitching). They should not be trading any top prospects for expiring contracts.
  15. I sure am glad you are not the GM. Caratini and Jackson are more than adequate behind the plate. 4 of the Twins top 14 prospects are catchers. Catching is this team's strength. If they can trade Jeffers and add another bullpen arm or fill in starter, Overall the team could be strengthened.
  16. Seattle? I read where they are looking at trading a starter because they are over stocked. they need offense not another starter. Especially one that would cost them as much as Ryan.
  17. 4 of he Twins top 14 prospects are catchers.. See what a Jeffers trade can bring.
  18. Did I say he was? He can add a glove to a team. He is not going to bring back prime talent. But what do the Twins do with him? Next year looks like wash and I doubt the Twins will keep him after this season. See what he can bring. Can't hurt. Also Castro was trending down last year and really went south after the Cubs got him,. He signed with the Rockies this year and has had a decent year (0.7 WAR). Kreidler has a 0.4 War. No ir wouldn't be a block buster trade...but who knows.
  19. When if not now? He's having a career year some one who needs a good fielding SS, utility man to fill in their roster for a play off run. They got a couple of decent prospects for Castro last year.
  20. Even if the Twins make the play-offs this year, they most certainly would be knocked out in an early round. Now is the time for them to stock up. on prospects. Not the time to be trading away top prospects. Trade Larnach, Jeffers, Kreidler, Bell, maybe Ryan (next year is probably a wash out and in '28 these guys will be 2 years older,. The same for any of the veterans proposed in your scenarios) for more prospects. Bring up the guys knocking at the door in St Paul to see what they can do. If the minimum salary floor is raised. Then the Twins will have seen what the newbies can do and have money to extend those that look promising.
