  1. Baldelli has lost this team, he lost hem when he passed the buck on Duran for blowing the lead against KC Saturday Night. Once again he refused to accept any of the blame for making a bad decision in that situation, Duran accepted the blame and felt remorseful Saturday night, and Baldelli put all on him. then Sunday he blows up on his team, what a class act. I have never seen a manager that never takes the blame for anything that happens on the field the way this guy does. Baldelli has to go.
  2. Sounds like Baldelli has totally lost the team.
  3. No matter how much he got booed, how bad he was doing Sano was always at the top of the dug out steps cheering his teammates on. He usually always the first one on the field when another teammate did good. Yeah his career crashed and burned but I never heard of him complaining about it. Lewis has spent half the season on the IL and he is complaining that he is worn out?
  4. In other words he is not a "gamer" Play me where I want to play or I will whine about it. He has played half a season and he is worn out? Come on! I am really starting to dislike this guy. One thing I always liked about Miguel Sano and he never got credit for and I am sure it hurt his career, was that he always agreed to switch positions to help the team out. He moved from 3rd to left, to 3rd, to 1st. But the fans were always on him because he was not good at his position, especially 1st base. But I never heard him complain once. Now we get cry baby Lewis.
  5. Baldelli 's handling of the pitching staff is surely enough to cost him his job. But last nights was probably the worst move since I have seen since Kevin Cash took Blake Snell out of that WS game against the Dodgers in 2020. You could just see new life pumped back into the Royals. Analytics be damned Ober was totally dominating them, let good enough alone. Duran has not been effective when coming in non save situations. Something also has to be done about the teaching basics of the game to the young players on this team. They look worse than a bunch of little leaguers. A manager in todays game needs to use anayltics I agree. But they also need to use their gut instincts and manage the old way too. that wasn't all bad. The Twins need a new manager and they need a new system for teaching the basics of the game for the players as they come through the system. Their devlopment of pitching seems to be on track right now, they need to do the same for the hitters and fielders
  6. Anybody watching the game tonight? Well there's your answer why he shouldn't be playing 3rd base.
  7. Truth is I don't think the Twins have ever really had a really good manager. Gardenhire should have accomplished so much more with the teams he had. I heard him comment that he did not believe at all in modern managerial concepts.. Baldelli is the total opposite. The managers that have won the last couple of WS (Baker and Bochy) use a mix of both. Which just makes sense. It appeared that Baldelli was drifting that way for while, but lately is seems he has gone back to the computer too much. Kelly was to much of a you got to do it my way guy and drove off some really good players, instead of letting them be themselves.
  8. What do you think they Twins could get by trading Kiriloff and Julien now? Their trade value is about as low as Miranda's was last year at this time.
  9. Not rea and end up with a bunch of guys signed to long term contracts that could easily be replaceable by guys coming up through your farm system? I agree an occasional super star type may be with tying up but why be in a rush? Why would the Twins offer a long term contract to Ober for instance? He is 29 now and will be into his 30's before he is a free agent. Ryan is another one he he has been hurt every year so far, do they really want to sign him? Lewis? come on another Buxton for people to complain about, he sure has come to earth lately hasn't he. If he can have an injury streak and get his numbers back up maybe. Jeffers is inconsistent, Larnach and Wallner are a journeymen type, Miranda has a lot to prove, but maybe. Who would you lock up? I see no future HOF types on this team,
  10. Most of the Twins young guys aren'y even Arbtatration eligible yet and still have a lot to prove. Why rush into signing them to long term contracts until they prove they have earned them? Injuries etc. could derail their careers. I think this front office has a handle on things
  11. Looking at the 40 man roster it is possible that 10 to 11 spots will open up. The question is who will they protect and what free agents will they sign?
  12. Maybe the front office and the "cheap" Pohlad's do have a clue as to what they are doing after all.
  13. I firmly agree with not signing any player over 30 to long term contracts. What would the Twins do now if they were stuck with Gray for 2 more years? His ERA has gone way up since the All Star break, They have three established starters, three promising rookies now in the rotation, Morris is looking really good at St. Paul and there are several more promising arms behind him. It isn't about how much money you spend it's about how you spend your money.
  14. Momma said there would be days like this, there would be days like this Momma said.
  15. Miranda was pretty well written off at the beginning of this season as I recall.. Kirilliff has the talent and is still young. If he can get his injury jinx behind him he can be a contributor to a MLB team. When healthy he has produced. Why give up on him now?
  16. The Twins always manage to get prospect or two thrown in on every trade. In this trade the throw in will probably be equal in what they gave up to get him. The MLB Farm System ratings out today now have the Twins system rated #2. It was in the 20's a couple of years ago. I think the Twins front office is doing quite well in building a winning organization.
  17. No the Karma seems to be flowing just fine right now, why mess with it
  18. I don't agree that he should lead off, but he should be the primary catcher. He is hitting better, is better defensively and I have always liked to watch the way he handles pitchers. With the Twins now having three rookie starters a stabilizer behind the plate is important.
  19. Let's worry about this type of stuff in December. Right now Lewis and the Twins should be focusing on baseball and winning.
